Re: Opinions on Perris?

Re: Hamburgers on the way to the Oval Nationals.
In-n-Out is OK at best. Five Guys will kick their ass all day long. Farmer Boys is only about a mile from the track and serves up a decent burger if...

Re: That damn Dave Darland!

It would have been a real treat to see Dave, in his prime, go up against some of the other greats, in their prime. It's truly sad that Rich Vogler left us early; I'm sure the two of them on the same...

Re: Mopar Million Results!!

Does the name TROY RUTHERFORD ring any bells? He, like Troy Cline, really had to make something happen. Both passed a lot of cars while transferring through the early mains.

That was a fabulous...

Re: T-shirt collection

The shirts have been sold. They found a good home. I really wasn't expecting to generate the interest that followed the initial post, but I'm glad to find somebody that will enjoy them. Thanks.

Re: T-shirt collection

I guess I should put a list together. Mostly XL, some L. A lot of drivers from CA and IN. Events, tracks, some winged. Some going back into the 90's. The last ones maybe 2013. I have the same...

T-shirt collection

I have decided to part with my collection of sprint car based t-shirts in an effort to raise $890. There are over 100 that have never been used, and I rarely wear them at all since I took a real job...

Re: Now for Something Completely Different

I love to watch single-car qualifying (honestly) in turn one, just to witness how much lateral force a right rear can withstand. The attraction for me has been the amount of pure desire that is...

Re: OT: Thrill Shows?

I was travelling around in Wisconsin and visited paved LaCrosse State Fair Speedway. Their schedule advertised an "Eve of Destruction" that was composed of maybe 10 separate events. I wasn't there...

Re: Wish there was away

They've dabbled with the idea at Perris, but with no consistency. At an AMA Grand National race at Calistoga they opened the pits up for an hour or so before heat races and indicated that was normal...

Re: Chilli Bowl Beefs

Lets give them some incentive to start at the back, or at least outside the top 10. Throw some money at them and see how they respond. We, collectively, have a year to put a handsome purse together....

Re: Thanks to all our fans & sponsors

That made my day.

That is a picture of someone who obviously loves sprint car racing and who has probably been making unseen contributions that benefit the racing community all off-season. Good...

Re: USAC Sprints - Salem - 10/4/64

Please elaborate. What was the resulting fallout? A good chuckle? A pissed off A.J.? I haven't heard this legend.

Re: HARF Monte Carlo night

Being a former craps dealer in Las Vegas and dealing at dozens of parties like this, I HIGHLY SUGGEST that you tip your dealers. It makes a lot of difference. Take a handful of $5's and $1's and you...

Re: Thank you USAC for taking drivers away from

I recall a man that made it happen. He arranged it so the west coast teams toured to the midwest tracks and beyond. He wanted to make sure that the boys ran at places "that make the hair on the back...

Re: Thank you USAC for taking drivers away from

The CRA is off this weekend and not specifically to allow the drivers to race at the Smackdown. I don't see a great influence on the line-up. It might be that the distance has a greater effect than...

Titanium Midget at the Chili Bowl??

I haven't seen a Mike Minarik entry for the Bowl; any word on if the Ti midget running? I was looking forward to seeing it in action.

Re: Tri state speedway isw round # 7

I bet the Demon was really wondering when he would win another race. He kinda had a slump there for a while; not like his 15 win season from years past. And it wasn't without his usual added drama or...
