Can anyone enlighten me as to why Bloomington closes so early in the fall?

Dwindling crowds due to HS football. Dwindling car counts due to racers being out of money. They consistently lost money when they ran in September.

15 years ago EVERYBODY closed after August. Only seems like the last few years that tracks have been adding dates into Sept and Oct.

Everybody? Com on now 4 crown at Eldora has always been in Sept. And they've always raced on the first weekend in Oct. at Eldora. Bloomington used to run a Sunday day show late in the year. Lawrenceburg ran their Hoosier fall classic in Sept. Gas City used to run their last show of the year (even back when they ran wings) a day show like late Sept early Oct.
I'll buy "some" tracks shut down after August....but not EVERYBODY.
I was at an All Star show at twin cities Oct 90' Charlie Fisher won that race and the Reds won the World Series over the A's that
night. KC raceway always ran a big show the first Sat in Oct.
Not trying to argue w/ The Fanthom, I
respect your opinion. Just stating a couple of facts is all.

Just sometimes hard to understand, there are weeks in July that there are 3-4 tracks running big money shows the same night. This weekend, L,burg has a rodeo,,, a rodeo,,, Bloomington closed, gas city, closed, L.P.S. Running their final race, Kokomo closed, looks like the decision is made for me. Ok, my bad, see where LPS is still running after this week, and Montpeliar having BOSS this weekend, so are some options. But a rodeo?

Haubstadt used to run though labor day weekend then close so Tommy could go race all the big dollar late model shows as he should have since he was one of the big dogs in the late models.

Just enjoy them while they are open! When they close is up to them hence they are the track owners! There are some tracks still running so get out there and enjoy them!

FYI, Its the World 100 weekend.

If your not far away or have something special or different to offer. your chances at a great crowd are reduced.

Even eldora is trying other things on off weekends. Monster Trucks/Stadium trucks etc.

We've always had "OTHER" things that either by themselves pack the stands or help pack the stands. FIREWORKS Shows, A Car Crushing robot, Joie Chitwood thrill show. Monster Trucks. Tractor pulls. Rodeo's and even Circus's

If I was a promoter and A Destruction/monster truck show sold the place out at a higher gate, while a regular show might have less than half that attendance, Guess what i'd choose?

I always used off weekends or non apealing shows to me as a chance to hit other tracks. Usually the car counts are good with less tracks running and often im surprised. get to see cars Ive never seen etc.

Go have fun, while you still can. Gas is down, Go to a track and have fun.
