Eighteen days until the 60th running of the Payless Little 500 at Anderson Speedway. 18 years ago in 1990 Jim Childers won the pole with a four lap aggregate time of 45.189 seconds. Jeff Bloom and Wayne Hammond filled out the front row. When all was said and done, however, no one had anything for Bob Frey as he sped to his 4th consecutive win in the sprint car classic and 5th overall. If you could race anywhere, anytime where would it be? Be specific, past, present or future. I am bored let see what we can come up with.
I would pick as they were called "big cars" at Williams Grove post WWII. Tow ropes, open trailers, and open face helmets with a bandana. No cages, no roll bars! Men were men, and no teenage drivers! Oh sorry just fantasizing. Got carried away there, what can you come up with? Let's see.

Maybe if we post some Greg Staab support it will get read.

I've known Greg for a long time and his passion for the sport cannot be questioned. Why move to Indy ?
He knows both and all sides of the sport and has done a lot for USAC with events and saving SprintWeek.
Hopefully the rumours are just that!

Saturdays crowd at Eldora was the smallest I can remember for an USAC show.
Is this a sign that gas prices are going to take their toll on track attendance?
Or was it because they were running on Pole Day?
Beautiful day with comfortable temps, and with so many rain outs, I would have thought they would have had a much larger crowd.

Anyone out there have any idea how many midgets we'll see at La Crosse, Slinger, and Rockford this weekend? Planning on Slinger for sure, but if there's going to be a pile of cars out there, I might hit the other two as well.
