Some are spending more. Don Ott built Fred Rahmer an Outlaw killer motor that was rumored to cost over 90k a couple years ago.

The huge billboard on top of a wing car has to look attractive to sponsors as well.

I don't think there is anything in the world or humanly possible that could make that thing look attractive!

If racers want more money why do they not support higher paying races?

Racers look for the pay throughout the entire field. Just because a race pays $10,000 to Win doesn't mean it is a great payout!

One has to watch Night 2 at East Bay USAC race. Best race of Speed Weeks. Definitely not follow the leader like a winged race on a hard, dry, slick track. This type of racing that USAC produced that evening is what puts people in the grandstand. People in the grandstand puts money in the purse. This non wing racing is why New Jersey and New York tracks are going to try a non-wing sprint car class next season.

Eddie....I beg to differ. For some reason no one has put up any footage of night 2 at bubbas. Our team took 2 cars down for two weeks and I have to say it was some good racing on this night, not black slick follow the leader. I think a lot of theses tracks that take that extra effort to work the track, get the cars therefore get the stands filled. Don't get me wrong we had good racing, but IMO puting around the bottom is not fun to watch. The rest of your post is spot on...

So I guess that means you should be at all them 500 to start 100 tow USAC races huh?

Yet you'll be a the 175 to start 75 tow show with twice as many cars and thats why purses never rise
