Re: Usac: Six years later…thorson gets redemption at angell

"To be fair USAC qualified last."
That is true, but the minimum weight rule in USAC with the driver is 1035 pounds. The minimum weight rule for Badger is 1100 pounds.
65 pounds will make a...

Re: Usac: Six years later…thorson gets redemption at angell

Did anyone else notice 35 Badger Midgets and 22 USAC Midgets took time at the Firemen's Nationals?

And quick time in the Badger Series was 15.358.

Quick time in the USAC series was 15.463.

Re: D2

Badger definitely is not a D2 series. They never intended to be, and their members will quickly correct you if you mistakenly refer to them as D2. Another series copying their engine rules does not...

Re: D2 POWRI purse

Dad, if what you are saying is true, light weight pistons and pins, different cam profiles, tricked up valves, etc. don't make a difference, why write rules against them? If the cylinder head is the...

Re: D2 POWRI purse

Dad,
Thanks for the info but the point of my post was not whether or not tech COULD be done, but whether it WILL be done. As you said in your post, they COULD very easily pump the national engines -...

Re: D2 POWRI purse

I doubt you will ever see the purse for this series posted. I don't think you will ever find out what their tech inspection procedure will be either. I had thought about buying a midget and having an...

Re: D-2 Focus engines

What I am reading here doesn’t make much sense to me. The driveshaft cars running Ecotec and other automotive engines in the last two seasons were allowed to run aftermarket pistons, cams, valves,...

Re: D-2 Focus engines

How do I contact any of these guys? My engine guy has been asking me questions that I just can't answer. The first thing he asked me was, if you can port & polish the head, and use aftermarket...

Re: D-2 Focus engines

Is this official? Have not seen anything about this from USAC or POWRi.

Re: USAC and D2 Midgets

OK now I'm a little confused. There is a post on IOW about the Powri D2 series and one about the USAC D2 series. I have heard that both series are using the same rules for now. This post says Powri...

Re: POWRi Division II Midgets

DAD, I was thinking about cylinder wear right after I used your formula for calculating cubic inches and found out that .5mm or .020 oversize was right on the maximum displacement limit. Boy, there...

Re: POWRi Division II Midgets

DAD, I just used the formula and the figures you gave. I came up with 145.488 CID for the stock ecotec. I don't understand why the max displacement rule would be 147.15 if you have to run o.e.m....

Re: POWRi Division II Midgets

Wayne, I know the rule says max displacement for 2.4 engines is 2.04110 liters (147.15 CID.) What I need to know is if oversized o.e.m. pistons are available. The guy at the machine shop said .020 or...

Re: POWRi Division II Midgets

I was just reading the rules for the Div ll midgets and have a question. The max displacement limit is 2.411 liters or 147.15 cubic inches and o.e.m. pistons are required. Are oversize o.e.m. pistons...

Yeah I know some of the cars were mini sprints but who cares? It didn't make the race any less exciting. The guy sitting next to me said one of the mini sprints finished second last week. I think he...

I made it to Angell Park last night too. I thought the show was fantastic! Sure was nice to see enough midgets to run a B main again. The sprint & midget features were both really fun to watch. Lots...

Re: Powri @ Lasalle speedway 8/29?

Low car counts at recent POWRi events was my guess, looks to be confirmed now. Sad!

Re: Pevely - WoO & Powri

Sprints & Midgets always put on a great show. I can't tell you how many times I've heard people talk about how great the Midget show was when they're paired with Sprints. Many came for the Sprints...
