Agree with that 100%. Frank's a stand up guy and someone who is good to have as a friend. Plus, this guy has one of the most positive attitudes of anybody you're going to meet at the track. When a guy like that brings up an issue, you might want to listen. Kind of like the old EF Hutton commercials.

I don't need to operate a successful website in order to voice my opinion in support of the short tracks in Indiana. I stated my opinion that advertising by the tracks should be free of charge as a service to them for providing the basis on which this forum even exists. Stop supporting the tracks and this place goes away.

It would be like you charging the doctor the next time he burdens society by doing what it takes to keep you alive. He's the one providing you with what you need in order to survive, just like the tracks here in Indiana provide the basis of the discussion that takes place on this website.

On more than one occasion Frank has been a "very good" friend to IOW. I'd consider him a friend even if he wasn't a "very good" friend.

I've never posted this before... but any race track that pays for a 12 month primary ad, gets that larger ad that appears in between the posts for free. You can question just about anything I do here... but don't question my support for the local race tracks. I've spent countless hours building, maintaining, securing and sometimes babysitting this site, all for what... So I can sell ad space? I don't think so. You don't start a website about sprint car racing to make money... you start it because you love the sport. Regardless of what you think about IOW... I'm proud to say it has helped local racing.

I believe that you might have missed a couple of key points as well. First off this site might be called Indiana Open Wheel but if you read many posts you will figure out it deals with racing world wide. Indiana short tracks are an important part of this forum but not the only thing discussed on here.

The second point should be self explaaitory, if no revenue comes in this site disappears.

What do you mean that isn't no money tree? What did I buy last night then? Guy was offering a two for one deal. A money tree and a bird that can sing. I mean, the bird sounded like Willie Nelson, bought the bird and the tree for 500 dollars. Stupid bird then took off and got away before I could get a bb gun.

Bill, you do a great job. I was thinking about doing a website for a friend that has a car lot until the media pastor at church told me about how much it would cost him. Decided to stick to craigslist.

I know the site needs revenue to continue. I'm saying it just shouldn't have to come from the racetracks, in Indiana or worldwide. If a racetrack wants to purchase some ad space here to advertise, that's their choice. But I don't think they should be required to pay to distribute information about racing events. That's the direction some of the comments on this topic were going. I wouldn't expect them to pay to advertise at a place where they have no control over what is said about their track.

There is a difference between simply putting a post with info on your next race and putting multiple posts and constantly bumping them to the top.

We can keyboard jockey about the direction of some of the comments all we want, but the only opinion on this that really matters is mine.

I've never required local tracks to take out ad space to post here. It's always been there choice.

I've operated Sprint Car Pictorial for over 10 years.
www.fscpictorial.com

I'm the editor at a daily newspaper.

Two weeks ago one of the big dogs at the newspaper said, "I don't think people care about that." The next day I ran more local auto racing. I wonder what this person would think if I gave him links to some of the petty bickering on auto racing message boards?

And by the way, I get paid in the newspaper business by the advertising dollars. What columnists, writers and photographers are being paid by the advertising here?
