Do not be so touchy if you can not take a little criticism, maybe you should give racing.

My statement was not directed to you personally, but who ever you hired to run the track on race night.

And seriously, go to Kokomo, Bloomington or Gas City, you might learn a trick or two. It couldn't hurt.

Also instead of calling names, why did you not answer my questions?

I personally have never met the perfect promotor of a race track. Sure some are better at what they do but still there is no perfect one. I'm sure even Tommy Helfriech has his critics and to me is probably one of the best in the buisness. Having attended the burg most of my life I have always listened to the complaints about the promotors regardless of who it was. Tom Wieck, Greg Stabb, Jerry King, Craig Stevens, it did'nt matter who they were they were doing something wrong. Race promotion is a tough buisness and we the fans need to step back and look at the big picture. There's alot on their plates on race night but the truth is that preperation for the next weeks race begins at the drop of the final checkered flag of this weeks race. We also need to look at it as a learning experience on the promotors part. Dave is only in his second year at the burg and I'm sure he is still learning. Alot of what worked for him last year may not work now with the new burg so therefore he will have to step back refocus on the issue and attack it to better his program for us the paying customer. We the fans are concerned with the entertainment side of our sport. We want what we want and we want in now. Promotors are concerned with the entertainment side also but also have to look at the buisness angle also which is'nt always popular with those in the seats. I wish I could attend on a weekly basis but that's impossible. Still looking for my first visit of the year to the new burg however that unfortunately may not be until Fun Fest. Dave keep up the good work and remember that the problems you encounter as promotor of the burg are learning opportunities which can only make your program that much stronger. You have everything in place now it's just a matter of fine tuning.

You have to be extremely thick skinned to be a promotor of automobile races (especially Dirt!). My advice to any promotor is the stay out of these internet forum squabbles. It will only make one look unprofessional in the end (even though you are simply defending yourself). Only post factual information, as needed, about your upcoming events, or to clarify unusual circumstances that occured at your track (such as UCS Thursday night). I know what people say on these various forums can be hurtful but, stay above the fray, promotors!!!!!!

Former Promotor Craig Stevens, who is glad he promoted before before Al Gore invented the internet and global warming!

Somebody needs to take the bozo that runs The' Burg to Bloomington to see how a race is really run. Bloomington had the complete show over by 10:30PM.
And they had reds and yellows, but cleaned things up quickly.

I have several questions about Sat. night.

Why was there a third series when no other track had one?

Why was the format changed from the previous races for the Midgets? They had a 24 car semi and it would have be 26 had 2 cars not made the start. That many cars in a semi is asking for a wreck fest.(Me thinks this was done to try and make time for the Tinker Toys)

Why did they not run the Sprints after Midget hot laps to give the Midgets time to tweek their car and keep action on the track?

Why is there so much down time? (What in the hell is a mandatory intermission?)

Why are their track crew so slow and dysfuntional?(They had this gripe at Sprint Week on Wed.,but seem to correct the problem for Thurs.)

Why do they send out 4 or 5 trucks for a minor spin? ( It takes longer to get the track crew off the track than it does get the race car restarted.)

Why do I get the feeling that this show was planned to run late?(Notice the mufflers on the Minis, so they could run after midnight.)

With a track of 3/8ths mile it is evem more important to keep the program running.

There was some great racing and a lot of excitement, but it should have been over before 11:00 not after midnight.

A great race was ruined by poor management.
Where you at the same race I was? Seriously I believe thats the dumbest post I have ever seen. If you left that show and had that many complaints, you should not go to races.

The track was prepared better than any track I have been to all year, racing was fantastic on a beautiful night. Kudos to Dave and his entire staff for the best night of racing I have seen all year. The midgets are so fun to watch they are just incredible. Great run by Darland who schooled Bland a bit but this Jeff Bland guy is making me a fan of his everytime I see him race.

First of All, Sat Night was some of the best racing I've seen at the Burg in a while.

Now to reply to "Dyno Don's" Post. I do believe that it was stated that the "Manditory" 10 minute intermission was an USAC rule. Having a 3rd class running is something that the burg has always done.....great open wheel night!!!
How many other tracks can you go to on $20 and have the GREAT racing that you saw!!!! As for the clean up's, yes they were a little slow, they too are getting used to the new banking and will get it figured out. So what if it ran a little late...If you can't stay up that late, either don't come or go home before the last feature !!!! :angry-smiley-007::censor: Dave Thanks for a great night of racing and a great new track. Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!! :applaud:

Sorry I missed you, Brent. I hope Brad was civil to you! He's extremely frustrated right now. We're obviously struggling on the track. Thanks for stopping by! Try again the next time you're down there. I'm usually there but yesterday I played in a golf scramble and got there fairly late and, I spent quite a bit of time on the back straight between races. Hope to meet you!!!!

I think you are assuming that all the spectators come from Dearborn Co. There lots of people that come from great distances.

I know a couple that came from Ft. Wayne. If the show is over, they are home by 1:00 AM, if the show is over at 12:30, it is 4:00AM.
What time would you like to get home. Also there was a pastor there that had a service on Sunday, he was from Marion. How do you think the service went?

If every one attending was from Dearborn Co., a late finish would be no big deal, but with people coming from many miles away a reasonable finish time would be a god send.

And think about this. I can go to the Indy 500, get there 3 hours early and still get out in less than 7 hours. That is something The 'Burg can not say.

As for how many other tracks I can go to and see great racing for $20.

Lets see. Gas City, Bloomington, Kokomo, and THAT. And by the way THAT only runs one class.
