All I can say is WOW!! The track was unbelievably fast. The bottom slicked off which allowed the guys on the top to be as quick if not quicker for a few guys. Darland, Burdette and Scheurenburg were flying on the high side in the sprint feature blowing by cars. A little bit of a late night with so many cautions and red flags but well worth the twenty bucks. Kudos to the track crew although I am sure someone will gripe about the cushion being rough. Great to see our ol' pal Tom Wilson back flagging for USAC. :checkered: Overall a great night of racing hope all the drivers that took hard flips are okay as Cole Whitt took one hell of a ride in turn three. Also several other guys took some hard rides.

Thanks for a great night of racing,

Shane and Corbin McHenry

I think they are slow because it is really hard for those guys to safely get to the top of the track. It seems the track crew could help them a little by getting some of the cars in an easier position to tow them. Those guys give up their Saturday nights to tow race cars so it is hard to give them any grief. With all of the cautions, the night did seem to take forever but like I said earlier it was worth waiting for.:thumb

Anybody that thought that was a good show, was not at Bloomington.

Somebody needs to take the bozo that runs The' Burg to Bloomington to see how a race is really run. Bloomington had the complete show over by 10:30PM.
And they had reds and yellows, but cleaned things up quickly.

I have several questions about Sat. night.

Why was there a third series when no other track had one?

Why was the format changed from the previous races for the Midgets? They had a 24 car semi and it would have be 26 had 2 cars not made the start. That many cars in a semi is asking for a wreck fest.(Me thinks this was done to try and make time for the Tinker Toys)

Why did they not run the Sprints after Midget hot laps to give the Midgets time to tweek their car and keep action on the track?

Why is there so much down time? (What in the hell is a mandatory intermission?)

Why are their track crew so slow and dysfuntional?(They had this gripe at Sprint Week on Wed.,but seem to correct the problem for Thurs.)

Why do they send out 4 or 5 trucks for a minor spin? ( It takes longer to get the track crew off the track than it does get the race car restarted.)

Why do I get the feeling that this show was planned to run late?(Notice the mufflers on the Minis, so they could run after midnight.)

With a track of 3/8ths mile it is evem more important to keep the program running.

There was some great racing and a lot of excitement, but it should have been over before 11:00 not after midnight.

A great race was ruined by poor management.

Dave,
Great show last night! My family really enjoyed it. I enjoyed all three classes of cars. It's great to see the young drivers of AMSA, their our future.

As for the grumpy ole man.... How in the world can you compain?? You saw great racing, the show moved along at a great pace and I'm sorry if you have to be in bed by 10:30, but come on. What more do you want from the burg???
LIGHTEN UP AND ENJOY LIFE!!

You're not paranoid; They did it just to piss you off.

There is no sense going through life as miserable as you seem to be.

I am with you Don, Why were there 3 classes of cars? Every other Midget week race went smooth and done by no later than 11:00. I personally don't care if a show runs a bit late if there is a track rework for the A's, but if there is really no reason for it other than a poor attempt at efficiency....Then that is a drag. Having 3 classes was probably just padding the back gate. Seems the burg runs late all the time. Great facility but not a great .......well you know what I mean.
