USAC rule
V. With the exception of suspension components, induction and/or exhaust systems and nerf bars, no accessory or
component of the car may extend more than 6 inches from the main frame tubes. Cylindrical oil tanks mounted outside
the frame, behind the engine must be mounted as close to the frame as practical.
Now if I was to take a tape measure to the "breather can" that you had on you car it would not be within this 6" rule..... here is a link to the picture showing the evidence.. http://www.apexonephoto.com/Rumblein...8995&k=qvphmXn
The correct rule is posted on the Rumble web site:
2. All external engine accessories such as oil coolers, oil tanks, batteries, etc must be bolted to the frame of the car and not extend
outward beyond 8 inches. The frame is defined as in a straight line adjacent to the cockpit. Frame extensions making the frame
wider are prohibited.
Mr. Guess, I'm not sure where you were a few years ago when the oil tank measuring was an issue but we are within the rules as approved by the Rumble officials. Thanks.
The breather can is not part of the oil tank therefore it must be within the confines of the frame... and I will guarantee the outside of your breather is beyond 8" as it is past the outside of 6" round oil tank which is atleast 2 1/2" from the frame for clearance of your rear track bars....

Was wondering how long until someone pointed that out....

Mr.Guess, PLEASE. This is a completely DEAD issue that was dealt with several years ago. Thanks.
What it really boils down to is I could find something that was not within the rules on every car that ran this past weekend... I for one saw a rule today that I missed on my own car.... no draglink strap... was it a performance advantage NO! Where is your leftside cage net and all the cars that didn't have them or anyone else for that matter without the draglink strap? Rules are rules do I agree with what Tony did? No but if you really look at Ft Wayne who do the people REALLY come to see? Some guy named Tony Stewart! People on this message board have gotten a good laugh out of this whole debacle, myself included! But enough is enough of your whining and trying to make logic of things that pretty much everyone could give a crap about! Maybe you should go out and let your racecar do the talking instead of your keyboard!

Sounds like a really bad day for you. Don't read my posts and you'll feel much better!
