At a race track, it would be the promoter or race director or possibly, it could be nobody and there are situations like that or perhaps the promoter doesn't even want the racers to know or they play hard to find when there is a question about race procedure. As I stated before, when I go to a race track, I expect the rules that are in place to be enforced and if they are violated I expect penalties to be assigned to those people who violate the rules. Nothing different here than everyday life. If someone shoots you, I hope you don't want to hear from the judge that the person is being set free because they are a great marksman. If I have a question about the rules, and, say, a heat race lineup, I don't want to hear from the promoter how great a race driver is and therefore it's OK for him to be above the rules.
Rules are rules. But racing is racing and people will try anything to gain an advantage. I can promise you Tony's car wasn't the only thing with stuff cheated up, but your dead focused on it. He didn't even win the race. I didn't go but I'm pretty sure he dropped out both nights. So why are you complaining about his car? Complain about a car that won or finished top three. Heck, Mayor31 said there was a car there with independent front suspension. Why in the world aren't you complaining about that?

Furthermore, if your mad that they don't enforce the rules then why don't you use it to your advantage. Complaining on here won't accomplish anything except provide people with entertainment at your displeasure.
I can tell ya if i was there and got beat by a car with a square fuel tank that I wouldn't be complaining on here, I'd be at the shop building me a square fuel tank. That goes for any low budget part.

Don't get mad, get even.

I am interested in whether or not Don is going to accept Tony's offer. Unless I missed it, I don't think an official response has been made, and the suspense is killing me!

What a story it would be to have Stewart come back & win in the Potter 6 (IIRC that car was defacto ruled out by USAC )

Mr. Moore you say you have 4 cars and can barely afford to run. The smart decision to me would be have 2 or even only 1 car and focus on that and maybe get yourself a win.

Mr Moore, now you of all people claim to be within the rules...... I for one saw it on you car and hear is the rule that you were breaking..... so I for one don't want to here of you play by the rules then throw others under the bus!

USAC rule

V. With the exception of suspension components, induction and/or exhaust systems and nerf bars, no accessory or
component of the car may extend more than 6 inches from the main frame tubes. Cylindrical oil tanks mounted outside
the frame, behind the engine must be mounted as close to the frame as practical.

Now if I was to take a tape measure to the "breather can" that you had on you car it would not be within this 6" rule..... here is a link to the picture showing the evidence.. http://www.apexonephoto.com/Rumblein...8995&k=qvphmXn

Don,

I go back to my first post regarding the tank..I felt it gave no advantage. Everything else was checked. Judgement call. I will be specific in regard to no square or any other non traditional tanks. The reason?..I know Mike Fedorcak still has his in his garage!...Plus we don't want 5 other square tanks. I like the looks of the traditional tanks.

I want to once again state that revised rules will come out soon. We will concentrate on the nerf bars next year. Some are coming off the car. We will have the guage that DAD recommended...

Sammy Swindell has the square tank at Tulsa..But I feel the real key to the car? GREAT driver...the car is probably the lightest midget ever too.

I know this is an oval track forum, but lets not go in circles here.
