With all of the rainouts and weatherouts this weekend all throughout Central Indiana on up and into Michigan, and some fans looking hard for somewhere to go, maybe Haubstadt or Lawrenceburg, I found it quite ironic that no one has mentioned there is a race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway today.

It's nice to see that dirt, however wet it is this weekend, rules.

Today was the Indy parade.
The race is when they run the Indy 500 on the oval.

I watched the Angies List Grand Prix and it was a pretty entertaining event and it looked like there was a decent size crowd in attendance.

The crowd surprised me. It was really cold in the stands.

I'll bet it was! A. J. Foyt had on winter type apparel, as did many others.

The crazy thing were the people in shorts and short sleeve shirts. I ended up wearing 2 fleeces, gloves, hat and wool socks and still got cold.

Has it been that cold for a race at Indy since the 1992 500?

I don't think so. We were in section J toward the top. (Oval turn 4) and it was nasty. I heard Colabro mention '92 a couple times but not 100% sure if it were a reference to air temp, the snow that year, or both!

Between IMS Saturday and Kokomo last night, my whole face is chapped. lol
