Radar and forecast not looking good and Accuweather says it is raining there now? Planning to attend, but don't want to drive 300 miles for nothing. Anybody in the vicinity know if it is actually raining at the track? Thanks!

Ron: I thought about going tonight myself.. I live an hour 1/2 from track.. Just looked at radar. It looks like it is raining. Looks like a big cell heading right for the track.. IM going to just stay home tonight. IM gonna try to hit a race next weekend... I for one cannot afford to go and have the possibility of a rainout. With my work schedule that I have, fluid... Hope this helps ya!!

Ron.. I'm going to take a run up there to see what it looks like. The rain is training from the northwest and appears to have dumped some around P'ville. However, radar showed some here in Brazil and it was only a few sprinkles. I'll let you know in an hour or so.

Just a few sprinkles off & on here. Radar looks worse than what's falling. It's 1:30 at my house and according to the radar it's been raining here for over an hour and my patio & driveway are dry as a bone.

Ron,
It rained recently in Crawfordsville but nothing that would cancel any racing. With that said it is always a gamble on a night like this but I just checked the weather for Putnamville and possible thunderstorms from 3 PM to 3:45 PM and then it looks clear thereafter. It's your call! Pat and I are only 45 minutes north so we are planning to head down unless we get a notice otherwise. Maybe we will see you there. Bring your canvas folding chair. Here are the facts as I see them. It is NOT raining...but it has rained a small amount. The sun is shining as I write. The track looks good. They are working the track. A few seats are marked. More are being marked now. The best news is Kokomo/Gas City Dick is in the parking lot. I' m coming back a little later.

Do you get their text messages in case of rain out? Keep your phone handy. It's now raining lightly15 miles west of the track.

Per the LPS website at approximately 2:30 today:
Sheepsfoot is going around the track, infield is dry, and we are GO for racing tonight! |
