I'm interested in the pig mat; maybe it's supposed to be "pit mat" but it is the South...

Jim, it could be what you read, I used to run karts with Mike, and a lot of other now famous racers, back in the days of street races, which an old friend of mine is still involved with, and Mike was a bit different, to say the least, but we had fun, and pulled all over the US to run for trophies, never gave it a thought, good people, good racing, and places no one would go on purpose. Oh well! Bob

Bob,
I was going to also say "and it is Mikey" but held my tongue (for a change).
Interesting that you've raced with him and the thought of a pig mat being in his possession does not surprise you. Having not met the man personally I have to say that I think I would enjoy that, as he is definitely my favorite on-air of the Brothers Waltrip...

What do you guys call floor diapers?

We call them pig mats, it may actually be a brand name.

Jim, we had, and still have, quite a few guys that still work for some of the Nascar teams, Mark Martin got his start driving for a local good friend of mine, another that worked for me, went on to be a crew chief, with about 3 top teams, the Green brothers, from Owensboro, all got their start with us, Lake Speed has been known to drop into our local dirt track, and mix it up in a kart, DW was at most of our races, Armi Armstrong was a hell of a competitor, one lap it'd be Armi on kart, next lap it would be kart on Armi, I've got a lot of "history" across the country, wouldn't trade the experiences for anything, couldn't put a price on any of it. Jack Rouse has been in my shop, I did work for his brothers son, Dave Marcus used to send me parts to machine, when he and DEI were working on the early restrictor plates, he didn't want anyone in Charlotte to know what they were doing. Been quite a trip, and almost all purely accidental. My new rods just came in, better look at them! Bob

Ahh, see, not what I was thinking at all.
Guess I've just watched Deliverance too many times...

Not a lot of stuff for a 2 car team. Must be the real owner keep all of the stuff that belonged to him.
