Never a dull moment at the Silly Bowl. For those not in attendance, the Sammy Swindell midget is minus a traditional tail tank. In it's place is a small "tool box" type unit mounted directly over the rear axle. Nice conversation piece and I'm sure if the "tool box" could talk, there's a definite advantage involved with this. If you like your midgets to look like an IMCA car or anything but a midget, you'll love it. The fans in the stand around me gave it thumbs down. Apparently, the "USAC" rules ( is this a body panel of sorts?) that have been invoked from time to time when some of this stuff shows up were thrown out the window for one of the stars.

That guy that built those stupid munchkin supermodified midgets, years ago, showed up at the Indy speedrome with a square box fuel tank..... He was told by USAC to put a proper tail on it. Of course, the annual Tulsa flip-o-rama is not a usac sanction and these are the same guys who let some guy practice without a proper fire suit at last years flipfest so who knows.

hahahahahahaha That's why I'm a spectator there. Great entertainment. Clown town at the max. The sad part is that these guys will spend $$$$$$$$ and show up with an IMCA lookalike "midget" next year.

Thanks for showing a picture of the car/fuel tank....lol!
Had to search for a while but the "luvin' website" had a picture of it/the tank, but I couldn't figure out how to buy it(photo) or order pictures from the 'luvin website"...lol! I really wanted to buy a few pictures. In all reality all the square tank needs is a plastic cover/shell to cover up the sqaure tank. TQ's incorporate a rectangular fuel tank with a regular shell covering it and it's 1/3 the price of these overpriced bladders. I'm sure if a square tank on a 200 mph NASCAR/COT is safe you don't need to spend all the money the midgets drivers do on overpriced fuel bladders. What a waste of money...lol! Just kidding. Just trying to make a point. 2) If you notice this car/swindell rear view looks more like a normal race car with the Rear Wheels spaced equally on each side of the frame. Not these god awfuls offsets with the RR way out and LR close to the frame. A little rediculous, don't you think? You would think a midget driver could make a car look like a normal passenger car, not one with wheels way over to one side of the car....like a crutch to make it go fast around turns. How "antiquated". Just kidding guys. Just trying to make another point...lol! a) Well, my friend Sammy has done it. And that my friend is what racing is all about. Sammy does not follow, he leads. That my friend is as American as "Apple Pie" and thanks for the post. The Rear Tank, "AVG" WT sits low in the chassis and close to the Quickchange or roll centers. Make for a quick handling car...low polar moment of inertia. Boy how I luv that word...lol! Sincerely, Larry Otani...and Go Bobby..Go 49jr..lol! And god bless you all. Have a great time at the Chillibowl!:applaud:
