As I’m sure some of you know, the recent Ohio Sprint Week was beaten up pretty bad by weather. They moved a couple dates around in less than a days time to try to get a couple more in. I thought it’s a pretty cool idea and wondering if it might be applied to other speed week deals. I hope we don’t have any issues with the upcoming Indiana version but some in the weather community are talking about remnants of tropical storm Barry heading in our direction. What do you folks think about moving races around to try to pull one off on Mother Nature?

USAC has kinda done this in the past with ISW. Normally using Monday, Tuesday, and the Sunday after Haubstadt as makeup dates. Most tracks will tend to use them, but not all. Bloomington is one said track that won't.

I'll give the Wayne County Speedway promoter high marks for taking this risk and running a rescheduled venue race with little advertising. Shows the power of commitment and social media advertising to get the word out on such short notice. On the flip side of this, I've seen a few rescheduled USAC sprint car week shows that were lucky to break even, if best. Putnamville and Gas City are two that immediately come to my mind. Maybe Kokomo one year? It's definitely a high dollar gamble.

Brownstown or Bloomington, Bton would be Bloomington, Btown, Brownstown.

Hm, I didn’t know Indiana University was in Brownstown.
