Team 6R Racing to Cease Operations

In my years at what was then Indianapolis Raceway Park, I was always impressed with the dedication and the performance of the 6R racing operation. This is a sad day for racing. Best of luck.

To the 6R Race Team sorry to hear that you are getting out of the racing business. Hopefully things will get better and we will see your team back on the track, but I do want to thank you for what you have done for racing over the years.

Count me in as well that will miss the 6R cars and teams. Your support of racing will be sorely missed.

And by the way, Darryl, your presentation at Hewitt's Roast was my favorite of the night.

Bill: Thanks for removing the negative posts to what is such a sad development in racing. 6R has given until it hurts. We must appreciate what they have done, from the days of Jim Keeker through their devotion to what might be the end of Silver Crown racing. Thanks 6R, hope you will return.

Many years ago a racer and businessman much smarter than me, told me when I was just getting started that in business one should spend 10% of their gross sales on advertising>>> unless the add was on a race car. Over the years I have found it to be very good advice.

I would think that many racers have used this same bit of wisdom when deciding to sponsor a race car. The problem is now we can't even find that first 10%.

I would expect to see many more of these announcements in the future. Given the choice between keeping the doors open and racing any "good" business will elect to keep the doors open and work toward a better future.
