We managed to attend the ISW races at Terre Haute and Lincoln Park last week. This was the first time in over 15 years we had attended ISW races at a track OTHER than Tri-State Speedway. We thought both races were very entertaining and the crowd at both were IMO HUGE!!

Terre Haute is such a historic track and it is truly a treasure. I still love the old covered grandstand! With that said, it is showing its age. The PA system is awful and it is impossible to hear anything if there is a car on the track running at speed. If USAC had not had the portable screen which showed qualifying times, we'd have never known who qualified where. The lighting could use some work as well, especially at the exit of two and the entry to three. The cars pretty much disappear at these two locations. A lot of people on here were complaining about the track prep, and yes, it could have been better early, but for the feature it was a pretty good two groove track and was very racy. That is about all you can ask for on ANY dirt track.

We had not been to Lincoln Park in probably 15 years or more and again IMO, Joe Spiker and his team deserve lots of credit. Everything was neat and clean and the staff was pleasant and friendly. Everyone had a smile and the atmosphere and vibe was very enjoyable. Props also to the crowd that apparently cooperated on exiting the facility. We were parked in N BFE (back in the gravel piles) and we turned on to US40 about 25 minutes after the winners interview ended. I figured we were looking at an hour or more. We certainly hope to get back to LPS again in less than 15 years!!

Congrats to USAC, the racers and the tracks on another successful and well attended (based upon a sample of two!) ISW.
