Does USAC provided any insurance for sprint or midget drivers that are injured racing ?
made multiple calls to USAC and never got an answer - best I can tell is some tracks provide some coverage, but not sure how much that is there are companies that will insure drives but comes with a high deductible that supposedly the track or USAC will cover - but could never get a straight answer. being helicoptered out of a track is super expensive - who pays for that ? apparently a big secret until someone is injured - |

If you are a USAC member, there is some insurance that comes with that if you get injured. I believe it is spelled out in the members area of their website.
If you are a driver, than go to www.stida.com and get extra insurance through them |

I was never able to find any insurance information from USAC, either on the website or by phone -
same with the tracks - |

If you go to the USAC website under the Schedule/Results tab and select Event Info for any upcoming race it states:
Member insurance is $200,000 excess medical |

I suggest talking to the right people. They can probably fill you in and connect you with the right people

What exactly does $200,000 in excess medical mean ?
is there a deductible? - in other words does USAC pay up to $200,000 from day one / expense one or is the driver on the hook for an amount before the $200,000 kicks in ? the term excess medical is worrisome- excess what ? |

I believe excess medical covers the claim after your primary insurance limit has been exhausted or used up.

and if your primary insurance does not cover you while racing or participation in a professional sport -
then the USAC insurance will not cover you ? so folks drivers are at risk for a financial disaster |

Long story short, before you worry about what they're going to pay you better make sure your primary health insurance coverage is right and doesn't exclude any hazardous activities like say auto racing. Disability insurance is just about as important.

Correct - important to know what personal health insurance coverage you have -
the USAC coverage steps in after your personal coverage - up to $200,000 which in a bad situraiton may not be enough |
