2nd Annual Performance Electronics 600cc Non-Wing World Championship to air on Speed Sport

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — SPEED SPORT and Circus City Speedway in Peru, Ind., announced that the second annual Performance Electronics 600cc Non-Wing World Championship will air to a national television audience as part of the award-winning SPEED SPORT series on MAVTV.

The three-day event from the Miami County Fairgrounds takes place later this month, May 23-25, and will showcase more than 100 of the best micro sprint racers in the country — all vying for the $10,000-to-win top prize.

Presented by Sprint Car & Midget Magazine, the broadcast will be a one-hour program featuring heat races and the 50-lap main event with the program airing in primetime on Thursday, Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. ET.

“To partner with SPEED SPORT for the Performance Electronics 600cc Non-Wing World Championship is simply incredible. The entire staff at Circus City Speedway along with all of our amazing marketing partners have worked countless hours to make the World Championship a premier event,” said Ryan Leek, director of marketing for Circus City Speedway. “Getting these grass-roots race teams and drivers the national exposure they deserve is really rewarding. We can’t thank everyone involved with Circus City Speedway and the Performance Electronics 600cc Non-Wing World Championship enough for their support.”

SPEED SPORT President Ralph Sheheen will call all the action.

“Since our first SPEED SPORT on MAVTV broadcast in 2014, we’ve been lucky enough to showcase numerous types of motorsports to the MAVTV audience, including our first micro sprint telecast from Oklahoma’s Port City Raceway during our first season,” Sheheen said. “We couldn’t be happier to continue our commitment to short-track racing by featuring the Non-Wing World Championship on SPEED SPORT on MAVTV. With the best micro sprint racers in the country chasing $10,000 on an eighth-mile race track, it should make for outstanding racing and compelling television.”

Sheheen and Derek Pernesiglio will host the SPEED SPORT broadcast on MAVTV with Chase Raudman serving as pit reporter.
