Butch Wilkerson-Richard Griffin Rick Hood-Jon Stanbrough Dick Gaines-Calvin Gilstrap Chuck Amati-Robbie Stanley Steve Kinser-Sammy Swindell Doug Wolfgang-Rick Ferkel Bob Kinser-Jack Hewitt JJ Yelley-Dave Darland Jac Haudenschild-Rich Vogler Greg Stabb-Sammy Sessions Provisionals: Tony Stewart Jeff Gordon It would take place at the old Lawrenceburg speedway or Bloomington speedway

Great Thread! Guess I go back farther. Names like Lennie Renfro, Ross Smith, Hugh "Leadfoot" Randle, Stan Bowman, Calvin Gilstrap, Roy Robbins, are names that I enter. Can you even imagine all the names that have been named going into a race nite. The Heats, the B-mains, the races just getting to the feature would be a Hall a Fame event. Thanks for the memory check! Tim Kelley

Pancho should start outside third row he's use to that spot(invert). Some drivers can't drive ducks to water Pancho would just drive the water to the ducks.

Chris, your post compelled me to make two list, the first breaks all your rules except the time frame of 1960 until 2011.
Supermodifieds International Classic Gordon Johcock Sammy Sessions Nolan Johncock Johnny Benson Sr. Art Bennett Nolan Swift Norm Mackereth Ronnie Wallace Ronnie Lux Lee Bliss Bentley Warren "Irish" Jack Murphy Todd Gibson Jimmy Shampine Eddie Bellinger Sr. Nick Rowe "Animal" Andy Brown Freddy Graves Warren Coniam Johnny Spencer Kenny Andrews Baldy Baker Eddie Bellinger Jr. Steve Gioia Jr. Doug Heveron Doug Didero Chuck Ciprich Kempton Dates Gary Albritain Mike Muldoon Joe Gosek Chet Filip Dave Mc Knight Jr. Pat Abold For those of you unfamiliar with the International Classic they start 34 supers and even that number didn't give me enough room for all of the great super drivers I have seen compete over the years. Honorable mention would be Scott Martel, Chris Perley, Russ Wood, Mike Ordway, Mike Litchy, Dave Schullick Sr. & Jr., Jeff Abold, Tim Snyder, Joey Payne, Nokie Fonoro, Lou Cinconi, Doug Saunier. From the above list Gordon Johncock, Sammy Sessions, Chet Filip, Bentley Warren, Chuck Chiprich and Joe Gosek all had the chance to compete at IMS, and "Animal Andy Brown went to Indy as a hockey goalie. My second list would be a lineup for a Westerm World Champioship. Dave Darland Jerry Coons Jr. Jay Drake JJ Yeley Rip Williams Tony Jones Casey Shuman Charles Davis Jr. Levi Jones Tracy Hines Damion Gardner Cory Kruseman Chad Boat Josh Pelkey ---------- Post added at 09:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:21 AM ---------- Chris, your post compelled me to make two list, the first breaks all your rules except the time frame of 1960 until 2011. Well lets take a shot at this. If they qualified its simple who is on the pole. Everyone tells me he was one of the best qualifiers they ever saw...
Don Branson, AJ Foyt ( their battles were epic) Jan Opperman, Jack Hewitt Vogler, G Bettenhausen Darland, Elliott Bob Kinser, Haud JJ Yeley, Stewart Jud Larson, Mario Hockett, Clayton( speaking of epic battles) Leland Mcspadden, Rip Williams Ron Shuman, Kevin Thomas Wow that is harder than I thought. Can we build a couple of B mains also for some more hall of famers??? |
