this part of the FB statement leaves some "wiggle room" if the plans don't come to fruition: "its our plan to have GMP on the 2013 schedule" (note that it is their "plan" to return).
I am certainly hoping that part of USAC's plan works out !

I see from the video from the race at Gateway in 1999 that my brother, Robin, was the 1st non-qualifier. That would have been in the Steve Brown #72 Meli chassis, before I got my first SC car in 2000. It was a one-off car -- built by Meli from California. Thanks for posting the link!

It was mentioned several weeks ago in the St. Louis Post Dispatch in the lead-up to the NHRA Drags, that the new owner/promoter is very interested in bringing back Indy cars. That could make a nice double dip.
