Jerry,

Sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I hope in the days ahead you will find peace and comfort while remembering the good times that you shared.

I have enjoyed sitting with Jerry's dad at more than a few races. He was a quiet man(at least around me) and he loved racing. I will miss him and am sure he will be seeing better races than us in heaven.

Thanks guys. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers. You guys are my second family, so it means a lot. I come from a close family and we have so many great memories of Dad, so in time, we'll be alright. After the initial shock of all a sudden him being gone, has faded.

Tuesday afternoon my brothers, sisters and I were going through several suitcases of old photos that dad collected and there were many that brought back fond memories. One in particular stood out, to me, in terms of my life as a face fan. It was from 1972, along the fence on the Action Track backstretch. This is the one person responsible for introducing me to racing and I wouldn't be here, on this great, great message board had it not been for my dad's love of sprint and midget racing. It's dad in the middle, my two brothers sitting and me (8 years old) on the right. When someone second guesses having a day race at The Action Track and wants to know one good reason to race in the day, this is one, right here.

Jerry, in my thoughts and prayers of course.

Well said there, it is tough to lose someone, especially a family member so close, but having all the memories to cherish means so much.

That's is a wonderful picture and a great capture of what was a great time in our sport. So glad you and your whole family embrace it the way you do.

God Bless and We'll all see you soon..

Norman Shaw was a quiet but friendly man. It was a treat when he would show up with Jerry. I loved talking with him and enjoyed his company.

I knew he hadn't been well, but his sudden passing was still a sad surprise.

May he rest in peace in an even better place than here. May Jerry and family be comforted with the great memories that they have of Norman. And may God bless them all.

Jerry,
My most sincere and heartfelt condolences.
No other words I can think of, can fully express my true feelings after having gone though the sudden loss of my father several years ago.
The pain does fade in time, the memories thank God, never will.

So sorry to hear of your loss.We lost Dad in '99 after a long illness. From my own experience,I can tell you this.Although you never quite get over it,it does get better with the passing of time.Remember,God only lets us have them for a short time.
Your AZ racing pal,

Thoughts and prayers - I know how you feel about your dad and your love of racing; that's exactly how I felt about my dad. And he loved day races at THAT also! Troy and I are so sorry for your loss.
