Staab told me in I think 1988 after Huntley had pulled a bomb slider on Kelly Kinser to win a hoosier fall classic. That used to get ya a knuckle sandwich and a black eye to join your trophy.

In all candor, Kyle did not appear to have a problem with the Grant Sliders. I take that as, that was what he was expecting, as well as license to respond in kind without any complaints.

He wasn't happy about it either "If he wants to play the back out of it or crash game, Well I can do that too" Sorry I re-read your reply and see the License to respond in kind"

"I wish I could’ve had another shot at him because he could’ve played the ‘let off’ game. But it’s fine. It’s just racing.” was his comment. Way too many drama queens trying to add stuff that just isn't true. As my good friend Tim Crawley (great racer from Little Rock) told me years ago .. "I have three kind of slides .. a slide job, a scare job, and a hope one of us makes it out job."

Kokomo is spectacular! If they had sloth racing, and I was in the area, I would be in line to buy tickets.

Several years ago I was at a TNT race at East Bay. Emmitt Hahn promoted it. Cory Kruseman dominated the first 2 nights. That him on the pole for the Sat main. As top point guy, each night he started on the pole. Won 3 races and never passed a car. Emmitt told me after the race that the format ruined any chance of a good race. I agreed. The dash is by far the worst way to determine a line up. And the biggest gimmick. |
