This one had a little bit of the wind knocked out of it early on, when Brent Beauchamp pulled into the infield, as the leader. He and Shane Cockrum were going at it pretty good, right before that and this one had one of those great races that go down to the very end, between these two, written all over it. And after that, Shane appeared to be headed to an easy victory, until Jarrett Andretti cleared the other top 5 runners and set sail for the leader. Cockrum running just as high as you can on this track and Andretti on the bottom. He caught him and tried to take the lead away several times, but each time Shane would escape and re-establish his lead. He would go on to claim his victory, but Andretti made him earn it. Especially impressive was that Jarrett started well back in this field. Joe Stornetta was fast tonight and had a solid third in hand until he wrecked between turn 4 and the flag stand, late in the race. Mario Clouser had a nice run late in the race, as did Colten Cottle in the middle of it. There were a lot of real good skirmishes in this one, back through the field between young drivers, who's stars are on the rise. Quite a few of them involved Jesse Vermillion. That guy showed he's got some driving skills, even though he's kind of a newcomer to the sprint car division. All in all, another good night at Lincoln Park Speedway. Nice sized crowd. good competitive racing in all the divisions and a show that was ran without a lot of messing around.
