IIRC The Gasman put on one hell of a show trying to get in the A-main from the B. The Gasman didn't make it but he put on a show for the ages and instantly made me a huge Gasman fan. I am still to this day!

If it's rewatching a race I already saw, I would probably go back to the 76 Hulman Classic that Opperman beat Pancho and ol Bub. That's probably my favorite of all time. But if it's something I had not already seen I have to agree with some other posters and say something from a

Any race at Flemington Speedway before the 80's. Back when big block mods were home built monsters. The cars have gotten way bigger and heavier its a lost era. The nonwing sprintcars are at least pretty much the same animal as they have always been, the original big block mods are long gone replaced with big heavy store bought cars that you need a crew just to deal with body panels. Its a real shame.

I never tire of watching TP win the Tony Hulman Classic from the tail. He also had to run the tail of the other races to even be able to start the Classic. He was definitely hooked up that night for sure. Such excitement... Those were the days. Now life is much calmer and I don't worry about him as much. He still likes to go fast but he prefers to watch race cars instead of driving one...

I would love to go back to June 1964 to watch my very first race; a USAC midget show at Lawrenceburg Speedway. It was a race that started my, now, 53 year addiction to racing.
I was basically starting from square one. The only driver I had any familiarity with back then was Bob Wente and that was because he ran the Indy 500 almost two weeks earlier. I know Mel Kenyon, Chuck Rodee and Demsey Wilson was there. Pretty sure Bob Tattersall & Mike McGreevy. Beyond that it gets a little fuzzy. Maybe a Section A buddy of mine can fill me in. Oh, and one other driver of note. Jimmy Davies was not only there, he was the feature winner that evening. If you made a list of underrated drivers, Jimmy Davies would be a very good place to start.
