The Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget and USAC MWT Series will go into their final event this Saturday, September 17th in an event that will bring 3 different series together in one event. The MMS Midgets will also be joined by the USAC Indiana Regional Midget series along with USAC MWT Midgets. The Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget Series is presented by the Leaders Edge of Indianapolis, Indiana.

The event will serve as the final MMS Midget points event for the 2016 championship. Current points leader, Logan Arnold, leads Gage Etgen by 30 points (or 15 feature positions). The event will also pay USAC Indiana Regional Midget points (must be USAC member to receive USAC points and a Hoosier SP2 or 3 right rear). California's Carson Macedo leads Tanner Throrson in USAC regional points while Gage Etgen has a commanding lead in USAC MWT points. Shane Hollingsworth led the last 5 laps to win the last MMS Midget Event, with John Heydenreich winning the D2 portion. Davey Ray, familiar to the MMS Victory lane, won the last USAC Indiana Midget event.

The Montpelier Motor Speedway, which began racing in 1903 and hosted its first automobile race in 1915, is one of America’s oldest remaining racing facilities. While the east central Indiana ¼ mile clay oval has a historic past, the facility has seen many major modern upgrades the past four seasons including new restrooms and bleachers along with the addition of many safety features such as a new catch fence system along with a new front stretch wall, lighting system, transponder scoring, and corner runoff areas. The Montpelier Motor Speedway commonly competes weekly on Saturday Nights with its popular Modified and Stock Car divisions and is also the host to the popular Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget series. The Montpelier Motor Speedway serves as a host for USAC National Sprint Cars, USAC Indiana Midget Week, MSCS Sprint Cars, NRA Sprint Invaders, and BOSS Sprint Cars.

Bummed that my ride is down for the season, and just outside the top 20 to boot, even after a tough year.
