Safety bars on the 04 car

I am building up a *** car for nonwing and I'm not a fan of the safety bars in the top of the cage that they offer. I remember seeing pictures of what the Burton's had built on the top of their cars. Does anyone have pictures of the top of their cage? Thanks a lot!

I guess I will be first to ask, if you are not a fan of them, why do you want pictures of them? And why just the Burton's 04, several cars are running them?

First ones I seen were Tony Beaber and that was some time ago. Im a huge proponent of them and unless proven otherwise. Think all teams should consider em.

The bars that are on both of the 04 cars were installed by Joe Devin at DRC.

The bars that *** offer are too tall and when the car lands upside down the halo crushes the cage and spreads the cage apart. I seen a picture a few months ago that Burtons had some flatter bars in the top of their cage. I don't care about "extra" head room. I'm more looking to close off the top of the car.

Here is the Spike of Casey Shuman, the Maxim of Todd Shields (which got tested), the DRC of the Burton/Bland team from earlier in the season, and last Carson Short's car without a "Halo" bar.
That looks like an awful big open area above your head if you ask me. If I owned or still drove, my car would have a "Halo" bar of some deign, or it wouldn't go on track. But that is just one mans opinion. |

Thanks everyone posting. I have a new car going together and I want to add something to close the cage off. I'm a short guy so head room isn't a problem.

I had a halo added by Johnny Murdock @ Zero Motorsports and I am very happy with the results. It added a lot of cage strength to an older car that's for sure. I can send some pics if needed as I can't attach photos from my droid for some reason.
