Frankfort, Oh. — Saturday’s race at 35 Raceway was the first visit of the year to a race track for the Vintage American Race cars with large field of cars provided a great showing from the club they took to 35 Raceway on a near perfect racing surface with fans and Competitors alike filling the stands.
The first thing you sawn when you walked into the gates of 35 Raceway was Vintage American race cars they were brought to 35 Raceway by Vintage American Race Car group they did have a heat and feature event which is purely exhibition but very neat to see the cars of yester year.
In the Mod Lite feature event from the start Reynoldsburg’s, Richie Armentrout and Columbus’s James Halfhill, & Tyler Boetcher, battled door to door sliding in and out of each turn, as Eddie smith and Evan Smith battled each other for the 4th spot , with Armentrout distancing himself from the battle leaving Halfhill and Boetcher to a dual with Boetcher passing Halfhill with two laps to go but the veteran would not settle for 3rd as he made a pass for the lead out of turn 3 going to the checkered, with Armentrout the winner Halfhill 2nd, Boetcher3rd,

The next feature was the V8 Emods and lets say the Hurricane Hustler Hurricane WVa’s Keith Bills in the 36k was back in action after losing a drive shaft in hot laps when he took the field to the line in turn four leaving The closest challengers to Bills in a different zip code from the race leader. Bills had almost a half lap lead on second-place with Chillicothe’s Eric Arledge and Chillicothes John Arthurs battled for 2nd with Beavers Stevie Thronsberry pressuring the duo asc Arledge was trying to reel in Bills a caution on lap nine let Arledge close the gap on Bills and Eric and Kieth battle it out but coming out to the back stretch Bills pulled ahead of Arledge with Arthurs and Arledge running door to door they got together coming out of turn 2, a caution came out for a the 65 car of Eric Arledge after losing part of a bumper regulating him to the tail. At the restart John Arthurs tried to take the led from Bills but Eric came from the back of the pack and the two Ohioans and the West Virginian battled for that led spot. The West Virginian Keith Bills pulled away from the pack leaving Arledge and Arthurs to battle for second at the checered it would be Bills making it three wins in a row, with Arthurs 2nd, Arledge 3rd Thronsberry 4th and Grove City’s eric Kinney 5th.

Racing Excitement returns next week at the ¼ mile Bullring with a special kid Mt Dew Bicycle races at intermission along with a full racing program featuring the V8 Modifieds
