As a kid that grew up in rural Clay County working for farmers during the summer and going fishing with my dad on the river, at night, I can say that there isn't a song that means more to me than that one. The smell of new mown hay, the way the moonlight looks as it reflects off of the Wabash River and the sound the wind makes as it blows the leaves on the sycamore trees were all things I could really identify with. Especially when I was far away from home.

Thanks, Jim Nabors. Thanks for making that song world famous.

I would rather hear a recording of Jim singing the song than someone else, just won't be the same! Thank you Jim Nabors!
