Very sad day. I remember the first time I heard him as a kid. His voice matched the size and greatness of IMS. RIP Tom

Some of the greatest moments of my life have been spent at the speedway for many years. Nobody will ever say "It's a new track record" like him.

My memories of him where embeded into my memory at an early age. To me it will always be "A New Track Record"......"And Heeeee's on it" and his role in Hoosiers was a great touch. This man was ICONIC in so many ways. My dad looked up to Tom for all the great things that he did and Tom always had time for my dad's questions. A Great Great person who will be sorely missed. IMS will not be the same without hearing his voice in May.
Thoughts and Prayers to his family.

My first time at the speedway was qualifying the Year Arie Luyendyk set the all time fastest lap. The chills I felt hearing him announce the speed and "Its a new track record" still brings a smile to my face. He will be missed.

As long as I live, I will never forget the day that Tom Sneva turned the first 200 mph laps in qualifying, in 1977. Our mother grabbed a portable radio and took my two brothers and I to Deming Park for an afternoon of qualifications and sunshine. Because of the practice speeds, up to that point, you just knew it was going to be a historic day. And thanks to Tom Sneva and the God-like voice of Tom Carnegie, that day will be forever etched in my mind.
