Does anyone know the background or any history on a driver by the name of Floyd Crisp? Supposedly went by the nickname of "The Flyin' Spade". I have an old photo taken at Manzanita in 1982 of him in a Cyclone Well Service #9 Sprint. The car has a spade painted on the nose. I'm assuming he was African American but I'm not really sure. I haven't had any luck finding any info about him online. Just one little mention of the name but nothing else.

I used to have an Open Wheel with an article about him. I'll do some digging to see if I can find it.

I remember seeing him run an orange #9 at Black Hills in the summer of 1985, when Robbie Unser was driving the #92 Casey Luna Ford car powered by a Chevy. I'll look & see if I can find a picture stashed away.
