Dear Race Fans from everywhere,
We NEED your HELP!!!

Racing in Phoenix, Arizona is just a vote away. A well organized and dedicated racing group has been working on a proposal that was presented to the City of Phoenix to bring “Dirt Track Racing” back to the Valley.

The proposal includes much more than just a dirt track. There are plans for a full venue of racing activities (dirt track racing, go-Karts, radio-control cars, slot cars, etc.) including a youth organized little league program.

The concept is one of two that is under review by the City of Phoenix Planning Committee.

The news on Wednesday afternoon was that the committee is leaning toward the one other proposal for the City Council members to review and vote on.

There is a last ditch effort underway to have the race track proposal heard and seen by the voting members of the council. PLEASE assist in sending as many letters as possible to the city council members to have them consider the plan to bring back the dirt.

Below are some ideas to assist you in writing emails and/or letters to council members as well as the email addresses and mailing addresses to send your message to.

The vote is this Thursday!!

TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We would like the council members to arrive to work on Monday inundated with emails from all of you willing to help out.

Thank you for your support, locally & nationally.

To all: Forward this to everyone you know. We need thousands of letters flooding the Phoenix City Council so they understand the positive impact a new race track in Phoenix will bring. Use your Facebook friends, all email contacts, family members, etc. Get the word out. We need these letters to start pouring in Monday thru Thursday as the vote will be taken Thursday night. Thanks for your efforts.

Subject Line for the Email: 19th Avenue Rio Salado Family Entertainment Center VOTE

Primary body of letter. (Write something similar to the example below in your own words so that every letter looks like it came from you.)
Example of a letter:
Dear City of Phoenix City Council Member,
We understand there has been a concentrated effort to restore racing in the City of Phoenix since the closing of Manzanita Speedway and that a proposal has been submitted to the Phoenix City Council for consideration. We are excited to know that over 50 years of short track racing in Phoenix has the opportunity to resume a long standing tradition. We’re confident the Council members understand that this project will bring positive national exposure and that it will put the City back on the map for tens of thousands of race fans from around the US. I’m sure the Council also understands the revenue impact that it will surely bring to Sky Harbor, local hotels and restaurants as well as to the City itself. We are excited to know that the designers of this racing entertainment facility have developed and will introduce revolutionary solutions, surely to be duplicated by other tracks, addressing dust and noise, two major elements to building a venue of this nature in today’s marketplace. Again, we appreciate the City Council Members for their consideration of this important project and that it takes into consideration the number of race fans this will immediately impact.

Other Bullet points you can make in the letter:
- Family entertainment
- Youth racing league teaching kids the industry
- National and international exposure on television
- If you are a second or third generation driver or fan of Manzy, mention that and what racing means to you
- If you are tired of traveling to Tucson to race, mention how having a track in your home town will benefit you and your family
- If you are from out of town, please make special note of that and that you are looking forward to coming back to Phoenix to race again

Here is the contact information for the Mayor & Phoenix Council Members.
The location of the Track property falls between Districts 7 & 8
Thank you for your support

TMan, if the city of Phoenix turns you down try Buckeye. I was told at the time Manzy was closing that there is land in Buckeye already approved for a race track. The land is near the landfill off of 85 across from the prison.
