UMRA Returns to Anderson Saturday Night

The 50th anniversary season of the Dutch Mill Buffet UMRA TQ Midgets rolls on this Saturday night with a return visit to the Anderson Speedway on Saturday night. The first trip to the lightning fast quarter-mile was on August 7 and the 25-lap feature was almost run straight through with just one interruption four laps from the finish when Brandon Gray flipped on the backstretch. After an early race battle with his nephew Johnny and his son Jason, Terry Goff prevailed as the winner for his fourth straight victory of the 2010 season. Terry is coming off of a tough night at the Decatur County Fairgrounds in Greensburg this past Saturday where he was eliminated in an accident early in the feature.
There is a tight battle for rookie of the year as Scotty Orme leads Jon Steed by just five points! Both drivers will be in pursuit of the $50 from the “Tony Stewart Rookie Challenge” that goes to the highest finishing rookie. Drivers will also be competing for the five gallons of fuel for the G&G Oil “Hard Charger of the Race” that goes to the driver who advances the most positions in the feature. The youngsters will want to get their parents to bring them to the track on Saturday as a lucky fan will take home a brand new kids bike.
It should be a fast and exciting night as the TQs hit the high banks of the Anderson Speedway once again. Gates open at four, practice is at five, qualifying at 6:15, and racing is set to begin at eight.
