"Hey dad,(Tim Cox) what's the track record at Illiana tonight?"

"It's fast, don't worry about it," came the elder's reply.

Tim Cox, the week after a dramatic wreck at Baer Field Speedway, hot lapped the Swanson 7 for the HOSS show but found the remnants of last week still too fresh to compete. Unfortunately, Jason's engine went sour very early and a discussion brought the opportunity for Jason to drive the father's this night.

Jason went on to establish fast time of 15.666.

He won his heat.

He drew a ten for the inversion.

He paased Chris Neuenschwander with 7 laps to go to win his first HOSS race.

The race capped off a wild range of emotions for the Cox family, as dad recovers from injuries. Jason and his family again thanked everyone for their support from Victory Lane as the celebration carried on deep into the night.

My buddy went there last night and said Shane Hmeil was racing a wing car there. Any results from anyone?

Shane was very fast in the Pierce 26 until the engine sucked a butterfly bolt. Poof! Parked from running 3rd or 4th at the time. Was shaking it down for Salem.
