Oh yea! 35 Cars at Springfield & Du Quoin will be great. Wasn't all that many years ago that they ran a last chance race at Springfield. Would be good to see that again.
It will be interesting to see how the format change will affect those shows, for better or worse. Some would say it couldn't make them any worse and maybe they're right. Personally just watching those beautiful cars glide around those big 'ol miles is enough for me but not everyone looks at things like I do. If this format change catchs on Ol' Jack's hundred mile track record at Springfield will always be safe!! Ahhh, I remember it like it was yesterday and it's been 23 years (1987). JP's Du Quoin 100 mile record is already 18 years old. Man, where does the time go?

Nope, I talked to Sarge hisself about it a month ago. Bob said the format change would be in effect at Springfield and Du Quoin both.
I hope it helps the crowd at Springfield. The crowd at Du Quoin is pretty decent but at Springfield it (the crowd) has been dwindling for several years now.

What's the format change ? Red flag pit stop at 50 laps ?
Alway's wondered how a Sprint format would play on the 1/2 miles. 10 lap heats, then a 40 lap feature. |

So the hundred milers are dead, thanks Bob. Will save me a long drive to Du Quoin.

Before they put that wall in at DuQuoin a few years ago, there was a red flag stop ever year to bring the welder out!
Nothings changed... come on down! |
