Interesting development. I hope that they can make this work as the St. Louis area has a great fan base for auto racing. I hope that they can get a USAC Silver Crown race there and I would also like to see a supermodified show as well. The NHRA deal has to be big for a starting point.

Nice to see some good news for a track. A USAC return would be great. Would also like to see IndyCar return, need more ovals. I just hope Dover is out of the business of buying/building tracks. They don't seem to know how to run them after they do.

Any time a race track can reopen that's great news! Far to often once they close they never come back again.

I will likely get burned at the stake here but over the years I gradually began to prefer big paved joints over dirt miles for the Silver Crown cars. I've watched SC races at PPIR, PIR, Milwaukee, Disney World, Gateway, and Nazareth but began to skip Springfield, only 60 miles from home. The supers at PIR and PPIR were sure fun, too! |

I would love to see supers there or anywhere for that matter. I wish Winchester could get them on oldtimers weekend with Must see bill it as the worlds fastest weekend.

Gateway was host to a couple of fantastic Silver Crown shows in the late 1990s.
Here's the one from 1998: And here's the one from 1999: |

Toledo Speedway might question that one. They host the AVSS & MSA each June for their Annual Fastest Short Track Show in the World. I only hope that Winchester would at least think about having this type of show. I personally doubt that with the current ownership it will ever happen.
