Brandon Taylor charges to career-first http://www.rockauto.com USCS 600 win at Duck River

LEWISBURG, TN – Get out the broom and start the party, because Saturday night in Tennessee, 14-year-old Brandon Taylor showed the USCS http://www.rockauto.com 600 Sprint Car Series what a clean sweep was all about.
Taylor, the 2013 http://www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Rookie of the Year, shot from third to the lead on a lap four restart, diving underneath veteran Bob “the Bullet” Trapino from Alpharetta, Georgia in turn 3 and never looking back from there en route to a historic first USCS-sanctioned win and first-ever win in a micro sprint.

The young pilot from Cumming, Georgia became the second-youngest driver in the history of the USCS 600 division to win a points-paying event (behind only Taylor Tidmore) after also winning the Hoosier Speed Dash and the Engler Machine and Tool Heat Race to start the night.
“This is amazing,” an ecstatic Taylor expressed in http://www.rockauto.com Victory Lane. “I’ve led some laps at Dixie Speedway (in Georgia) but never been close to winning one until tonight. This car was just on rails tonight. I can’t even put this into words, it’s unbelievable.”

Montgomery, Alabama’s Kyle Amerson who was doing double duty while also racing in the USCS presented by K&N Filters sprint car division as well, charged from last place after an electrical problem kept him from starting the heat race, to finish in second place behind Taylor. Trapino rounded out the podium in third. Sharon Grove, Kentucky hot-shoe Jordan Latham, who won twice in USCS 600 competition in 2013, came home in fourth place and Mike Magic, the most recent USCS 600 winner, completed the top five at the finish.

Derek Warren held down the sixth place at the checkered flag and USCS newcomer Michael Barton finished in seventh. Clarksville, Tennessee driver Bo Barber crossed the stripe in eighth, the final car running at the finish.

Defending series champion Sean Hosey was involved in a lap 3 collision and was scored ninth, out of the race, and Aubrey Black II brought up the rear of the field in tenth after retiring on lap two. The second and final caution of the event occurred on lap 10 when Bo Barber looped his car around in turn 4.
In addition to his dash and heat race victories, Taylor was also the provisional pole-starter after scoring the most passing points in heat race action. However, following drawing a number six in the K&N Inversion Draw, Bob Trapino grabbed the K&N Filters Pole Position. Kyle Amerson passed the most cars in the main event (eight) to garner the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger Award.

The http://www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series season continues on Saturday, August 23rd with a rescheduled date at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia.
