Why is there not a class this weekend with 1000cc mini sprints at the chilli bowl? I know it is to busy at the midget show in two weeks but I would think they could make room for 1, 1000cc/1200cc class with the karts and 600cc guys this weekend?

They used to run the upright 1200s at thre shootout, back when all the micros had 250s...

Then the 600s started being used in micros which bridged the gap in speed. Then the 1200cc class petered out in OK and TX and they quit running them.

If you can find someone to sponsor the class and you can bring them upwards of 100 cars I'm sure they would run the 1200s again. Someone told me that they had 180 cars enterend in the non wing 600 micro class this year. They have a hard time adding classes when the classes they alrweady have are that full.

I wouldn't mind running non-wing with the Focus cars/Ecotech midgets. Same/more power than a focus car, wouldn't be difficult to compete.

Sure, just turn your engine sideways, run a driveline, rear end, and make weight 1075.

I agree with the poster that said the 1200 went by the wayside herre in Oklahoma and Texas. We ran one or two years with a 1200cc in OKlahoma and it was good racing. Texas esp. around Dallas had huge car counts.

The interest turned to the ASCS cars and like he said the 600's.
