$1 Dog & $2 Beer Night To Highlight Macon Speedway Action Saturday

(Macon, IL) Macon Speedway is ready to roll this Saturday, April 29, after one week off for frigid temperatures and now flurries. This Saturday’s action features six divisions of racing and $1 hot dogs and $2 beers in the concession areas.

Two special divisions will be visiting Saturday, the first of which is Vintage Racing of Illinois Series. The tour normally makes just one trip to the track each year but two dates have found the 2023-schedule. The series runs at several tracks in the state of Illinois and always puts on a great show with their old school looking racecars.

The second guest division is the PureMax Racing Oil HART Non-Wing Micro Series, making the first of six visits to the track this year. The race will pay $500 to win and $75 to start. Hayden Harvey, of Warrensburg, IL, was the winner of the POWRi Non-Wing Micro visit on April 15.

Braden Johnson, of Taylorville, IL, leads the Decatur Building Trades Pro Late Models into their third night of racing. Johnson has claimed a win and a third-place finish in the two events this year. Colby Eller is second in the standings, while Ryan Miller, Donny Koehler, and Brandon Miller complete the top five.

The BillingsleyRewards.com Modifieds are back for a second time, after having April 15 off. Highland, IL’s Jacob Steinkoenig is the point leader after claiming the opening night win over new track record holder, Michael Ledford. Jeremy Nichols, Zach Taylor, and Nick Justice round out the current top five.

Zach Taylor, a young racer from Springfield, IL, will look to impress again after winning the April 15 feature in the DIRTcar Pro Mods. Taylor put his car in the top lane and raced to the front of the pack and to the top of the point battle. Chad Ziegler is second in the standings, while Maxx Emerson, Dalton Ewing, and Brian Burns complete the top five.

Rounding out Saturday’s program will be the DIRTcar Hornets. Tristin Quinlan leads the points after claiming the April 15 win. Quinlan is followed by Jaekob Durbin, Bridget Fulton, Billy Mason, and John Bright, Jr.

Pit gates open at 4:00, grandstands at 5:00, hotlaps are at 6:00, and racing is at 7:00 pm. Grandstand admission is $15, while kids 11 and under are free.

Spectator Drags, CEFCU Kids Club, & Double Features Set For Macon Speedway Saturday

(Macon, IL) This Saturday’s event at Macon Speedway, in Macon, IL, will have something for everyone with a busy night planned. From free CEFCU Kids Club t-shirts to the first 80 kids, to double features for Pro Lates and Mods, and Spectator Drags capping everything off at intermission, it will be a fun family night at the track.

The 1/5-mile dirt oval has had three events so far this year with the same fast paced action that fans come to expect. Last Saturday’s event had rainfall set in during the BillingsleyRewards.com Modified feature, which left 16 laps remaining. The remainder of that event as well as the full 20 laps for the Decatur Building Trades Pro Late Models will be added to this Saturday’s program, giving fans double the action in those two classes.

This Saturday is also a CEFCU Kids Club night. The popular Kids Club t-shirts will be given to the first 80 kids aged 11 and under who sign up for Kids Club. Kids Club will be held between 5:30-7:00 at the pavilion, located beside the main scoring tower.

The evening’s special presentation will be at intermission when fans will get a chance to compete on track in the first edition of Spectator Drags this season. Macon Speedway officials are only accepting eight entries of those who would like to race their street legal vehicle on the racetrack in a bracket style tourney at intermission. There is no charge to compete for those with a ticket or pit pass and a few spots remain. To enter, call the office at 217-764-3000.

Macon Racing Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2014 Posts: 769	Spectator Drags, CEFCU Kids Club, & Double Features Set For Macon Speedway Saturday (Macon, IL) This Saturday’s event at Macon Speedway, in Macon, IL, will have something for everyone with a busy night planned. From free CEFCU Kids Club t-shirts to the first 80 kids, to double features for Pro Lates and Mods, and Spectator Drags capping everything off at intermission, it will be a fun family night at the track. The 1/5-mile dirt oval has had three events so far this year with the same fast paced action that fans come to expect. Last Saturday’s event had rainfall set in during the BillingsleyRewards.com Modified feature, which left 16 laps remaining. The remainder of that event as well as the full 20 laps for the Decatur Building Trades Pro Late Models will be added to this Saturday’s program, giving fans double the action in those two classes. This Saturday is also a CEFCU Kids Club night. The popular Kids Club t-shirts will be given to the first 80 kids aged 11 and under who sign up for Kids Club. Kids Club will be held between 5:30-7:00 at the pavilion, located beside the main scoring tower. The evening’s special presentation will be at intermission when fans will get a chance to compete on track in the first edition of Spectator Drags this season. Macon Speedway officials are only accepting eight entries of those who would like to race their street legal vehicle on the racetrack in a bracket style tourney at intermission. There is no charge to compete for those with a ticket or pit pass and a few spots remain. To enter, call the office at 217-764-3000. Point leaders coming into the night of action for the divisions that will be racing are Braden Johnson (Decatur Building Trades Pro Late Models), Jacob Steinkoenig (BillingsleyRewards.com Modifieds), Zach Taylor (DIRTcar Pro Mods), Phil Moreland (Weddle Performance Engines Sportsman), Zane Reitz (51 Bistro Street Stocks), and Tristin Quinlan (DIRTcar Hornets). Pit gates open Saturday at 4:00, grandstands at 5:00, hotlaps at 6:00, and racing will follow. Grandstand admission is $15, while kids 11 and under are free.
