I agree that would be how it is scored, but the #1 car wasn't running 4th on the last completed lap.....he was in 1st place.....and the rule says: If a yellow flag is displayed after the leader...

I haven't given an answer to the problem, and don't know the answer. I am just saying the rule that is in place now is fair to the winner, but sets the groundwork to put the screws to everyone else....

If the race is over when the leader takes the checkers, then why allow any changes in position behind the leader whether there is a caution or not? I mean the race IS over and nothing else matters,...

If that is "The Rule", it is horrible and someone needs to come up with something a little more fair.
What if, car B is running 2nd and passes car A to become the leader on lap 20, and then car B...
