Aussiemidgetfan, with all due respect (and I really mean that) it becomes more and more obvious with each one of your posts, you do indeed live half a planet away. I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just amuzing sometimes what you think you know. When the IRL arrives in your homeland, buy a ticket and a garage pass. I believe it will be an eye-opening experience.
And don't forget to say "Hi" to Tony George. I'm sure he'd be glad to meet you. Maybe he can get you a good deal on one of those "spec" CART cars with their "spec" Cosworth engines. Collectors item I would assume.

As for Danica, like her or hate her, she is a driver who won an Indycar race. Not many folks can say that. She is a female obviously, and some people have a problem with that. Well, some people have a lot of problems. Whataya gonna doooo? :wink

I think some on here must assume that Danica controls all the coverage she gets. She goes to a race, like her male counterparts, & THE MEDIA then goes ape over her....she doesn't seek out all the publicity she gets I'm sure. Is she smart in granting interviews, & the like...you darn right she is, it's exposure for her, & her sponsors, & without them she would be gone, just like her male competitors.

First of all, in all honesty, I would like to point out that I pay virtually no attention to the IRL and pretty much think it is a joke. I also pay no attention basically to NASCAR. I watch Sprint Car racing and thats pretty much it. But I will say this... Danica has 2 things going for her. She is American. And she is certainly very good looking. And one more thing... Someone on here used to bash her with every post, and I do not know who it is or care at all, we all have our own opinion... I think its cool she won and beat all the foreigners... but someone on here used to qoute... (to paraphrase) "The only trophy Danica will ever win is Trophy Wife"..... I 'spose that is going to be erased??? :rolling

Ok, understand this. There is not a major racing series on the planet that is not a "spec" series. "Spec" stands for specification. They all have specifications. Even your Aussie crappy formula series have specs.That's what formula is - specifications. Sprints, midgets, Silver Crown, IndyCar, Nascar. They are all a spec series. No specs = no rules, and the cost for racing escalates to the point of nobody being able to afford it.

Listen kid. when you try to argue a point with David and Dwight on here, you are fighting a losing battle. They've forgotten more about racing then you'll EVER know. I respect them more than most other posters on here for their racing wisdom and common sense.

And why do you bring up CART again? It's gone FOREVER. Forget it and move on.

If you think everybody in IndyCar buys a ride, then you haven't heard Tony Kanaan's story. He quit school at 13 when his father died to support his family. Swept floors in a kart factory just to be around racing. And waited for his big break. He worked hard to make his way to the top. True he didn't come from the USA and didn't run short tracks, but this guy is a real racer, love him or hate him.

Please, stop trying to state your opinion as fact. Most around here don't buy it.:moon:
