I was told track got to wet with the water they already had on. Its a damn if you do or damn if you dont deal. Said there was water standing in places around track. secondly people wouldnt have came out and few drivers to and wouldve lost there butts. yea you will get die hards but it takes more than that to pay the bills.

RAIN FORCES TERRE HAUTE POSTPONEMENT
Terre Haute, IN........Heavy Rain swept through Terre Haute this afternoon and forced postponement of tonight's "Tony Hulman Classic" at the Terre Haute Action Track. Race organizers and USAC are discussing rescheduling and a resolution will be announced when firm.

Classified information. Can't let any possible future pigeons be aware of my prowess with the golf bats.
Nah, truth is my golf scores and bowling scores are getting closer together.

I just wanted to point out that this rain gauge is in downtown Terre Haute. While it is only 2-5 miles (don't know exact distance but guessing), there has been many times that downtown has gotten no rain while southern Vigo got 2-3". As someone said (I think Racephoto1 in another thread), the track got possibly 3/4 to 1" of rain.
what with business being all but nonexistant, gas prices through the roof and race promoters unpredictable as hello i'm afraid, any events more than one hour in one diection will not even be considered without a forecast of ZERO PERCENT CHANCE OF RAIN this year/ i will most certainly support my local track though and i encourage others to do likewise
when it comes to indiana usac speed weeks; i would feel a lot better about taking chances and making the chase if usac and the promoters treated these events like ascoc and the promoters did with the ohio sprint speed week events back in the day (when they refused to be rained out) by running the track back in and racing regardless of time, if the rain came after the racers and fans were all there/ as most folks were following the action and were either camping or motelling it. they treated it like it was something special, because it was. i hereby send a request to both usac and the speedweeks promoters, i say the indiana midget and sprint weeks are special and should be treated as such/ lets get them in this year! give us encouragement to come and we will!
