I am just glad John has the BALL$ to defend his series. Most directors I have worked with in the past, let people comment without reply. John is right when he says most series never try and help even the field for racers. I know many whom only line their pockets. How many of you racers can say your local track cares about affordability. I feel that all the negative post here don't really state the issue people are having, just a bunch of HOOPLA... I personally would think that racers in Indiana would be tired of the shaft, and willing to try something new. Give the guy credit for stepping up to the plate, even if he fails. Most racers should just take advatage while it's available. Who know's I bet it might just work!

Just a fans' observation.......
You guys haven't run a show yet, but you're on here arguing and debating with the "naysayers".....just keep to yourself and let your shows speak for themselves! (JMO) I would think after a race or 2, you might have an idea where you're headed, right or wrong. But the pissin' match on here ain't getting you any "stature" in the business, in my opinion.

And....I can't wait to see the "reflections" from my friend DonMoore10 after the first AMCT Midget show where the "rules are changed every 10 seconds"......

Low car count?? Gonna drive 4-6 hours to a race on a, LOW, if non existent budget??? 2-5K to win??? What kind of competion will show up??? The BIG boys, if they are smart.
I don't think there is enough money involved for any so-called big boy to show up unless he considers it easy money.

This person has the right idea. Let your show speak for it's self.

Mr. Gurley,

I've thought about this over the night and I think I've realized where my problem is. Here goes:

Please stop giving false hope to those of us who have steel block sprint cars that you are creating a series that we will be able to compete in with like equipment. People are taking you at your word that this series will stay steel block only, ASCT will not stray from that distinction, and we can count on it. People have made financial decisions through the winter based on your statements. Some have decided to get into the sport, some have decided to let deals on aluminum motors go away because they were assured the series would stay steel block only.

If you're going to level the field between the aluminum block and steel block cars, please level it. I don't think anyone will argue too much that the disadvantage is in the motor compartment. The only way to level the field is to make the aluminum cars put weight in the motor compartment, no matter how much they weigh.

I'm not hoping ill will for this series - I actually think this could be a revival of sorts for midget racing in Indiana with the twin bill shows. But there are some folks who probably feel betrayed by the rules change. We don't feel betrayed, however, because we've seen this road before. You can only be betrayed by someone in whom you place your trust.

So, to sum it up, if you want to create a new sprint cars series it's fine by me, but please stop giving us false hope that we'll be able to compete against like equipment.

Mr. Gurley,

Unless something changes between now and then I'll be taking you up on your offer to buy my pit pass on Friday night at Brownstown, IL. Will you be telling the promoter to let me in for free, or do I look you up in the pits for reimbursement?

Tim Simmons
