Can't figure out why this topic has lost intrest already???
I think there are a lot of guys like you TWALTZ that would like to get into sprint car racing if it wasn't so expensive to run even a regular show. I know I enjoy racing with everybody I meet out at the tracks. Its a great time!!!

I agree, the MSCS Series appears to be a very healthy, well run, and growing series at this point in time.

I believe the MSCS was started with the premise that is was going to be a steel block series. Seems to me there were only a few "steel block only" races and an attempt to make a separate division within the MSCS.
Just a guess

MSCS was started as a steel block group, but to the lack of cars and a schedule started we were forced to open up the rules and let aluminum engines run. Because of the success of the Series it went forward that way. It grew to be a very good Series, but I still had the desire for the little racer so in 2004 I dabbled in the steel block Support Series. It started out well at Thunder Valley, but the next few Kenucky races had little support. When went to Lincoln, Illinois it was becoming very successful, but after five good shows at Lincoln there was a disagreement with the promoter. Because of my big involvement with the main Series, I did not have the time to work both programs. The main MSCS Series grew every year and was always successful. Due to my health problems I could no longer keep up with what I built. Tom and Loris Helfrich saw the potential of MSCS and decided it would be a good investment. Under the Helfrich's guidence MSCS has gone forward positively. My wanting to start SCORA Steel Block Sprint Car Group was in no way thought to hurt or impact MSCS. This was an idea to give the blue collar racer a place to compete with their own competition. I feel this is a good place for the smaller race teams and small tracks to have a Sprint Car deal that can fit into their budgets although it would make a good support class for some of the first class tracks. I am still a supporter of the MSCS program for it is very successful. I hope this clears up some of the rumors and ideas people have.

Things have slowed down over the holidays, but are picking up and hope to have some scheduling available. I am contacting tracks at this time. Hope to have a meeting for those interested in the near future. I will be at the Indy Racers Expo at the end of January in the Vermilion County Speedway booth. Thanks for the continued interest. Sam

Have any idea on what a winning purse may offer?
