The working mans Sprint Car Series being organized. I am in the beginning of forming an organization of car owners and drivers with steel block Sprint Cars or anyone that might be interested in this type racing class. Anyone that has a steel block Sprint Car or those that may have an interest in this beginner level Sprint class get ahold of me. Already in the beginning I have eight cars signed up and I need more commitments to have a group to sell and promote. For Information Contact: SAM STOCKON SR. E-MAIL SSTOCKONSR@GAMES.COM or call 812-249-0044

Kudos to you for trying to get something like this going. Are you planning on running around Indiana or what?

If I remember right isn’t this what you originally started MSCS as? I could be wrong but I thought a few years back MSCS was strictly steel block.

Isn't Sam Sr. The man who founded the MSCS? That organization has done quite well the last few years. It will be interesting to see, with his track record, how this steel block organization does.

To answer the above questions. We will schedule races where available. The main thing is to organize a racer group first. Yes, I am the founder of MSCS and still support what they are doing. This is a completely different animal for the racers and the tracks both. MSCS was developed in 2001 with the limited type deal to start with, but due to the times it took a completely different direction. In 2004 I had a add on Support Series with steel blocks and it was not well supported in Indiana, but was doing well in Illinois. Problems with communication with a promoter ended it and my full time went to the main Series. I sold the Series three years ago and it has been successful for the high dollar Sprints. I feel there is a real need for a limited class of Sprint racers. Thanks for the interest.

I agree. I think there is a real need and, probably, a pretty decent-sized market right now for a limited class. This may be just what the doctor ordered for those guys who want to run a sprint car but don't because there's no way they could be competitive with their budget.

Any other restrictions you're planning on incorporating into the rules to make the cars more affordable?

I see a problem having enough cars to draw from. I really don't see whats wrong with the ASCS sprint rules. There seems to be a lot of parts out there available as well. Didn't Jeff Swindell win a winged 410 or two and Hockett light the field up at Eldora against 410s with one? 16 grand for motor for full season barring problems.

They also seem to be having more higher paying shows lately than the 410 ranks.
Non winged of course or maybe a mixed series.

Of course its your ball to run with. I support it.
Chuck

Sam. dont fall into same trap again. This time stick to the steel blocks, any heads and injection, just make the engines all wet sump, maybe you can get a few modified guys to move up to sprint cars that cant go full blown sprint cars. just my opinion good luck, kenny:thumb:thumb

you guys might want to look at Heartland Racing Assc. Its basically a club but non winged
and steel block with flat tops, flat lifters, 2&3/16 and iron heads. To help the car count we
allow any of the winged stuff but if you have rollers, sump, pop-ups, big injectors,or over
360 you must run 1&5/8 restrictors and a 50+right and a 40+ left rear. They are very competitive with spec motors winning 3/4 of the races this year and we ran all year on
throw away wing tires
