Other than that GREAT RACING, I am planning on coming back the 22nd.

See you then.

Thats a great comment, Say it again when the Bald man. Bobby Gomph saves your life. Rest assured he has saved many and prevented a ton of others from being seriously hurt. Its kinda annoying to wait around but they never know. They treat every incident as if its serious first and go from there. THE WAY IT SHOULD BE!

Bobby Gomph, attacks his job with ferocity, that's for sure. Perhaps, sometimes, he is too thorough and too meticulous but, I'll take those characterisitics in any facet of life over someone who is apethetic toward his/her job. I feel a lot better about my son being out on that race track with Bobby Gomph being in the infield. It is my opinion that Bobby has set a new standard in local track safety at Lawrenceburg, that is the envy of other tracks. I'll take a delay here or there (h$ll, I might even grumble about it!), to have him and his crew watching over the safety of my son on race night.

I also like the Silver Crown cars, Super Mods., The big block Mods. and believe it or not TQ'S on a short track.
When The'Burg was1/4 mile, the TQ's put on one heck of a show.

Why would I want to go 100 miles to see the same type of cars that I can see less than 4 miles from my house? It is nothing against the other classes that run, it is I want to see something that I cannot see in my back yard.

If you are a local and that is the only place you can see the lower classes, I can see where you are coming from. Keep in mind that I drive to The'Burg to see Sprints. And again I will say that if I wanted to see Stocks or Bombers I would stay home.

PLease re-read --- I said after the driver is out of the car and walking around ---- I agree if the racer is in the car it is important to make sure the racer is not injured any further, take all the time that is needed. Is Bob a EMT or paramedic? Just wondering. I also agree with having families in the safety crew tracks, wreckers... I do not think that is a place for them. I have been in many emergency situations in the ER ---- the more people around, the greater chance of mistakes.

There is good and bad into having a extra class. I don't particularly like the Mini Sprints but there is a need.

Having them there with this big show puts these drivers at the same facility as their mentors. Many Burg participants came from those ranks, Others from elsewhere (Mods, Karts, ect)

It makes a show, something you planned to attend knowing in advance they would be there run a little longer. The trade off is that those kids and families in that class will sacrifice and work even harder to reach the elite status that came to participate with.

Chuck, who thinks a lot of the time is trucks having to circle the entire track to get back to their stagged possitions. Extend the gravel a bit in turn 4 so that guy can shortcut to his turn 3 spot. Just ideas, Not demands.

Dyno Dan: As far as I can tell, you have been ******** more than a PMSing chic. If you have so many bad things to say about the Burg, then don't go there. There are plenty of other tracks that you can go to.
Here are your complaints:
1) It was ran slow.
Opinion) Every person attending any race should go knowing that things may not go as scheduled and they may be out late. They made the choice to drive to a track hours away. So therefore, they should know that they could get home early, late, or right when they thought.

2) The "bozo".
Opinion) If you want to ***** about any "bozo" it should be the ******* who was running the track before Rudisell! He basically ruined the track and made it a damn hazard. He didn't take care of it like Rudisell and the guys helping him out! From what I hear and see online, the track looks to be the best it's ever been.

3) The track crew being slow and dysfunctional.
Opinion) Why don't you go out there and do it yourself then.

Of course you're probably thinking why I'm even on this website and posting seeing as how I live over 4000 miles away. Well I basically grew up going to that track every damn weekend. I've been there past midnight when shows ran a little slow. I've seen great races, I've seen ****** ones. I've seen dumbasses ruin the track by not knowing *** they're doing.

---Dave Rudisell, I've heard the track is great (my Dad is always telling me). Please keep up the awesome work, I hope to be there next year with my family to continue an old family tradition. :thumb

What time would you like to get home. Also there was a pastor there that had a service on Sunday, he was from Marion. How do you think the service went?

If every one attending was from Dearborn Co., a late finish would be no big deal, but with people coming from many miles away a reasonable finish time would be a god send.

And think about this. I can go to the Indy 500, get there 3 hours early and still get out in less than 7 hours. That is something The 'Burg can not say.

As for how many other tracks I can go to and see great racing for $20.

Lets see. Gas City, Bloomington, Kokomo, and THAT. And by the way THAT only runs one class.
I am NOT from Dearborn County. I drive 2 hours to get to the burg!!! By the time we got everything packed up, picked up $$$ and got out to the road it was almost 1 Am.....Not home until 3 Am. Understand that it was a late night. As far as paying you being able to got to all of the other tracks for the same $20.oo and not enjoying watching all "3" class run, and being "kept" there until late.......maybe a "Closer" Track that only runs 1 series is best for You.........but you will be missing great racing at the burg...sorry for you!!!!!! For me, as well as alot of other people, late Saturday night dirt racing is always been what we live for!!:checkered:

My fondest memory as a kid was one night my parents took me to Florence Speedway to watch the races. We were there until 3am and left and there was still races to be ran. I thought that was the coolest thing ever. We had 9 hours of exciting racing and i did'nt want to leave. I also remember going to Winchester Speedway for a ASA race and it was over before it started and i felt like i was cheated and wanted to see more racing. Sorry, just had to reflect on my past and re-live some old memories. I remember all the races i went to as a kid more than any other memory. Thanks Queen City Speedway, Florence Speedway, Winchester Speedway, Indianaopolis Raceway Park, and Lawrenceburg Speedway for all the great memories............Thinking back to those days is making me feel even older now.lol
Take care, Dave
P.S. Take a kid to a racetrack and make a memory that will last a lifetime!!!

I saw Sweet, Whitt, Bacon, East, Hines and others stand on the gas and race wheel-to-wheel, in the Midget race, in a fashion that made Tony Barhorst's "Pansies" moniker look completely stupid. Then I saw another late in the race, Dave Darland snatching victory from the jaws of defeat special, in the sprint race. We got our money's worth and then some. We ended up dragging ass into Terre Haute (150 miles longer round trip than an Indy one) at 3:45, still talking about the races we had just saw.
