Hey there is room for everybody, but just do not mix classes.

If you like Mods, Super Stocks or Bombers or what ever, have at it. Let them run on their own track in front of their own fans.

My gripe is that I pay extra bucks to see a National USAC Show, why should I have sit through a bunch of slugs.

If I go to a weekly show at what ever track you want to choose, I have got no ***** with Mods, Bombers or what ever. It is part of the show.

When I go to an USAC show and pay extra bucks, I want to see the stars of USAC and not watch local stuff while the USAC stars sit in the pits.

There is a place for every division and a field of 40 to 60 USAC cars is not a place for local classes.

I guess the local track fans do not realize how good we have it in Indiana, they think that they are part of a USAC show. In other states USAC is more of a big deal than in our own back yard.

See my post about Bloomington Speedway.

Is it beyond comprehension that to some folks the IDEAL show would be sprints and modifieds? Or to someone else midgets, winged mini sprints and bombers?
Some of the best racing I've ever seen featured cars with (gasp) fenders. I love sprint cars, but I also like and enjoy and want to see other classes.
You see, it's not all about YOU! Your opinions, likes and dislikes are not necessarily shared by everyone else (thank goodness).
I see where you don't like to be called names (grumpy old man), but you have no problem calling other racers slugs or a promoter a Bozo. I've got several names that I think fit you to a tee, but in consideration of the rules of this board, I'll refrain from using them.

The Rube crack was about the people that like that kind of racing, ala Speedrome.Take a visit there and you know what I am talking about.
I have been to the Speedrome so I guess that makes me a "Rube" in your mind? Dyno Don you are one of a handful of guests on this board who would ***** if they hung you with a new rope. I can't imagine what it would be like to be you. In your mind everyone in the world is out to make your life miserable. Perhaps you should count your blessings and realize there are more serious issues than you getting home late from a great race. You might even consider staying home more and getting caught up on your sleep.

The only complaint I have is the safety crew -- being in medical profession you need to take time, but when the driver is out and OK -- the bald MAN in the safety track you do do not have to parade around ---- get out of the way.:moon:my opinion of him)

Other than that GREAT RACING, I am planning on coming back the 22nd.

See you then.

And they had reds and yellows, but cleaned things up quickly.

I have several questions about Sat. night.

Why was there a third series when no other track had one?

Why was the format changed from the previous races for the Midgets? They had a 24 car semi and it would have be 26 had 2 cars not made the start. That many cars in a semi is asking for a wreck fest.(Me thinks this was done to try and make time for the Tinker Toys)

Why did they not run the Sprints after Midget hot laps to give the Midgets time to tweek their car and keep action on the track?.

Why is there so much down time? (What in the hell is a mandatory intermission?)

Why are their track crew so slow and dysfuntional?(They had this gripe at Sprint Week on Wed.,but seem to correct the problem for Thurs.)

Why do they send out 4 or 5 trucks for a minor spin? ( It takes longer to get the track crew off the track than it does get the race car restarted.)

Why do I get the feeling that this show was planned to run late?(Notice the mufflers on the Minis, so they could run after midnight.)

With a track of 3/8ths mile it is evem more important to keep the program running.

There was some great racing and a lot of excitement, but it should have been over before 11:00 not after midnight.

A great race was ruined by poor management.
Dyno Don, since it seem's all you ever do is *****, I'll take the liberty and post this for the GREAT Lawrenceburg staff/Management.

This was posted at the pit gate at the old Sharon Speedway, for Dyno Don and the likes of, .....Here Goes:

1) It may be smooth
2) It may be rough
3) It may be dry
4) It may be wet
5) It may be dustless
6) It may be dusty
7) It may go smoothly
8) It may be con-fusing
9) It may go SLOW
10) It might go fast
11) It might rain
12) THE SHOW MAY RUN LATE
13) You may like the Man-age-ment
14) you may NOT like the Man-age-ment

16) You may NOT like the rules
17) It just might be the BEST damn show ever

If you feel like you can't run/spectate under
these conditions, save us the trouble, AND
STAY THE HELL HOME.....
The Management...(I added, the hell & spectate:wink)

Mr. Rudisell, Like I told you in the parking lot before I left for Kokomo Sunday morning. Don't let some off these boneheads on here that ***** about everything, ruin your day. As far as i'm concerned you have one of the top 5 race tracks in the COUNTRY and you run that SOB the way you want. Let them go to a movie, that way they know exactly what time they'll be home in bed.

OK enough of that, I just walked in the door from a 10 1/2 hour drive from Kokomo and about a 1700 mile round trip. I have not one complaint, between the racing, the party AND the people, it was another great trip to Indiana. Thanks to All:respect:...

I can't understand why a 'race fan' would not want to watch up-and-coming drivers in other classes. That kid you are watching in a mini-sprint might be the next big-name in sprint, midgets.....or dare I say, NASCAR.

Geeesh......just enjoy the racing, no matter what the class and stop worrying what time it is.

The only issue I really had about Saturday night was the length of time to get one car off the track if it required a wrecker. Obviously the banking of the track is causing issues for the big wreckers. But what I don't understand is why they have to have half their family hanging off the back of the trucks to go get the cars? On one of the wreckers there were two young girls that were dressed like they were going to the mall perched up there all night. I think the driver goes slow so he doesnt throw them off the back going to get a car. During some of those yellows they should have thrown the red instead of the sprints idling around burning fuel for so long.

I think it would honestly help if the extras running around in the push trucks and wreckers stayed put while the needed people respond to what is needed.

L-Burg has some of the most knowledable safety workers around and Bobby and his crew get kudos for that. Unfortunately I've had to experience their help before but knew I was in good hands.

Jake,
Agree with you on the number of people in the wrecker. It's not a problem restricted to Lawrenceburg, but one that's tough for a promoter to control.

You might consider another possibility also, the longer it takes the wrecker to get to the car, the more time people have to read the name of the company on the side of the door.
When I worked in Greensburg, we actually had a wrecker company that would observe where our photographer was taking pictures from and try to position himself so the name of the business would be in the picture. There were even times where the photographer moved and the wrecker driver repositioned his vehicle.
