If you like Mods, Super Stocks or Bombers or what ever, have at it. Let them run on their own track in front of their own fans. My gripe is that I pay extra bucks to see a National USAC Show, why should I have sit through a bunch of slugs. If I go to a weekly show at what ever track you want to choose, I have got no ***** with Mods, Bombers or what ever. It is part of the show. When I go to an USAC show and pay extra bucks, I want to see the stars of USAC and not watch local stuff while the USAC stars sit in the pits. There is a place for every division and a field of 40 to 60 USAC cars is not a place for local classes. I guess the local track fans do not realize how good we have it in Indiana, they think that they are part of a USAC show. In other states USAC is more of a big deal than in our own back yard. See my post about Bloomington Speedway. |

Is it beyond comprehension that to some folks the IDEAL show would be sprints and modifieds? Or to someone else midgets, winged mini sprints and bombers?
Some of the best racing I've ever seen featured cars with (gasp) fenders. I love sprint cars, but I also like and enjoy and want to see other classes. You see, it's not all about YOU! Your opinions, likes and dislikes are not necessarily shared by everyone else (thank goodness). I see where you don't like to be called names (grumpy old man), but you have no problem calling other racers slugs or a promoter a Bozo. I've got several names that I think fit you to a tee, but in consideration of the rules of this board, I'll refrain from using them. |

The only complaint I have is the safety crew -- being in medical profession you need to take time, but when the driver is out and OK -- the bald MAN in the safety track you do do not have to parade around ---- get out of the way.:moon:my opinion of him)
Other than that GREAT RACING, I am planning on coming back the 22nd. See you then. |

The Management...(I added, the hell & spectate:wink) Mr. Rudisell, Like I told you in the parking lot before I left for Kokomo Sunday morning. Don't let some off these boneheads on here that ***** about everything, ruin your day. As far as i'm concerned you have one of the top 5 race tracks in the COUNTRY and you run that SOB the way you want. Let them go to a movie, that way they know exactly what time they'll be home in bed. OK enough of that, I just walked in the door from a 10 1/2 hour drive from Kokomo and about a 1700 mile round trip. I have not one complaint, between the racing, the party AND the people, it was another great trip to Indiana. Thanks to All:respect:... |

I can't understand why a 'race fan' would not want to watch up-and-coming drivers in other classes. That kid you are watching in a mini-sprint might be the next big-name in sprint, midgets.....or dare I say, NASCAR.
Geeesh......just enjoy the racing, no matter what the class and stop worrying what time it is.

The only issue I really had about Saturday night was the length of time to get one car off the track if it required a wrecker. Obviously the banking of the track is causing issues for the big wreckers. But what I don't understand is why they have to have half their family hanging off the back of the trucks to go get the cars? On one of the wreckers there were two young girls that were dressed like they were going to the mall perched up there all night. I think the driver goes slow so he doesnt throw them off the back going to get a car. During some of those yellows they should have thrown the red instead of the sprints idling around burning fuel for so long.
I think it would honestly help if the extras running around in the push trucks and wreckers stayed put while the needed people respond to what is needed. L-Burg has some of the most knowledable safety workers around and Bobby and his crew get kudos for that. Unfortunately I've had to experience their help before but knew I was in good hands. |

Jake,
Agree with you on the number of people in the wrecker. It's not a problem restricted to Lawrenceburg, but one that's tough for a promoter to control. You might consider another possibility also, the longer it takes the wrecker to get to the car, the more time people have to read the name of the company on the side of the door. When I worked in Greensburg, we actually had a wrecker company that would observe where our photographer was taking pictures from and try to position himself so the name of the business would be in the picture. There were even times where the photographer moved and the wrecker driver repositioned his vehicle. Jim Morrison |
