I would not worry about the Berlin race. If I hear them warming up. I'll walk over. Berlin just had a front office shake up. Will wait and see if it is for the better or not. I just hope the crown cars make the trip up. Bring some midgets along too. Lol

Well i guess sitting out in Az you wouldnt see a schedule enhancement. I've been to the SC races at PIR, if it was supported it would still be running. Glad they rescheduled THAT and Toledo might be interesting.

If this comes to pass, does it mean bye-bye to the Silver Crown race and maybe to the oval at IRP.

Thurs - USAC Silver Crown
Fri - Trucks
Sat - Nationwide goes to the Speedway...

Earlier in the year, IRP has its own Nationwide race

No Nationwide in St. Louis next year

They better be working on fixing the problems that exist. NASCRAP is the biggest problem and apparently the car owner's feel the need to get involved. They met this week in Charlotte to add their input.

In case they didn't notice, so many speedways that race NASCRAP events, have numerous empty seats on raceday. With that being said, TV rating should be rising to new heights. Oh wait, they have also seen a double digit drop so apparently the "product" might be at least part of the problem? Go figure.

If they do take the Nationwide race away from ORP, I don't see a mass increase in attendance at the speedway for this race. IMS is a terrible place to watch a race. Why take a successful (25+ years) short track race off of the schedule to have it at a track you can't see but 1/2 of the race. They need to keep a long term, successful show intact and worry about not creating more problems. They will currently be looking for a new "home" for both the Nationwide race and the Camping World race that Gateway is "giving" (dumping) back.

Actually John, right now I am sitting in Oswego not Arizona and was certainly looking forward to next weeks race. Don't get me wrong I am glad to see THAT rescheduled and Toledo added for the owners and drivers sake, cost effectively I hate to see them lose a race for any reason. However, I feel USAC dropped the ball on the Oswego race, they say they knew right after last years race that Kasey did not want to promote a race this year. They went ahead an scheduled a race for Oswego this year, if I am not mistaken the USAC schedule came out in Dec. last year that gave them basically 8 months to find someone to promote the race. I have mentioned on here a number of times since getting to Oswego that USAC returning to Oswego was the best kept secret out there. It is the same thing when they come to the Phoenix area, you see virtually no press until the day of or possibly the day before an event.

Last years race at Oswego drew about 8,000 people between the granstands and pit admissions, at least that is the figure I have heard circulating around Oswego. USAC cancelled this years race without even as much as a reason being given, the cancellation was buried in this schedule enhancement announcement. IMO if USAC had secured the funding to pull this race at Oswego off, then rescheduled THAT and added Toledo that would have been an enchancement. Cancelling a race isn't an enhancement espically a race that was so successful last year. I guess you could say one enchancement for the teams is they won't have to travel as far to Toledo as Oswego.

I love the Silver Crown Cars and am surely bummed they are not coming to Oswego next week!
