Just my opinion, and I felt like sharing it. I have worked for both foreign (Daimlar-Benz) and American (Chrysler) automotive companies and I would have to say the American owned company is by far better (reliability, worker rights, profit sharing,etc.). The foreign company just bled us out and you get NOTHING! And that is a fact!

Well, how about a truly All-American Solution? This week at the PRI Trade show in Orlando, Revolution Racing Engines is rolling out the All-new RRE / Chevy ECOtec Midget engine. I've been listening to what the average Midget racer wants in an engine for 10 years now, and we think that this engine will deliver.

It's made in America by an American Manufacturer. It features state-of-the-art technology. It's light. It's powerful. It is reliable. And, it will deliver more power for less money than anything you have seen before.

Now, it IS different... and for some of you it will take some getting used to. For one thing, it's got electronic fuel injection. But we didn't just adapt something from a street car, we designed a racing system from the ground up and we think it's awesome. All we're asking for now is to just give us a chance to show you what this thing can do. Honda makes good stuff - I did my first Honda B18 Midget 10 years ago - we think this Chevy ECOtec is every bit as good, maybe better.

We will be making some big announcements about this program in the coming days, and after PRI we will be doing a lot of testing and demonstrations. If you want to be kept informed about our progress, just drop me a note and I will add you to our email list.

Sincerely,

Keith Iaia

No, he's not. Not all of us are ignorant enough to still be living in 1945.

Personally I really don't know what all the hype is for the Honda Engine or
the Chevy 2.4 Ecotec engine?

I really don't.

If it fits the rules build it and race it. If it don't, it's just another political game
someone is playing to get thier engine into the market. We don't need it
and racing don't need it. If you don't know we, are in a depression. Words
to the wise.

1) As far as I'm concerned Ford has it developemental engine in the FF Midget and
leave it alone or change the FF Midget with the few options that were promised
years ago. If Ford don't want to to do that. Fine just leave it be. I'm
fine with that. The FF Midgets are just fine where they are at. It a great
starter seires. If you need more power buy a full midget.

2) On the West Coast we have two sprint car series that don't need any help.
They are the 360's and the 410's. And that applies to the wing division
or the non-wing. I don't care about the ASCS series. If you want to run
that series get in your hauler and spend all the money you want. California
will do fine in thier 410 series and 360 wing/non-wing series and have done so
for a long time. It don't need anybody or any other organization trying to bleed
more money from Californians. Do it to the rest of the world. California don't
need yah!

a) Again, words to the wise we are in a depression. Take that statement
anyway you like it.

3) Now, on another note. I don't race sprint cars or midgets but I do help on
an occasion and help as a fan and pit crew helper on a few local
teams.

1) If I were goin' to try to develope or build a small midget engine, I would
start with the all aluminum 2.9 liter, in line four, dual overhead cam engine
that came in my 2008 Colorado pickup truck. It's puts out 185 hp stock.

a) I would try to destroke it to USAC rules and see if one of the new 2009
HP Chevy Midget Race Heads could be adapted to it or see if AFR,
Edelbrock or one of the other aftermarket mfg were goin' to build a head
that would adapt to this all aluminum, in-line 4 cylinder truck block,
made by Chevy. Seems like this idea is more in what a racer would do to
save cost than to buy one of the state of the art 30-40 thousand dollar
Pink, Ford, Chevy or Toyota engines.

Sincerely,

Larry Otani, and hope you can make it to a track in 2009. It's goin' be fun,
no matter what happens in the world. Racing is an escape and
a lot of people are goin' to be goin' to the race track, just like
they have been for years. :applaud: It's the only thing to get
your mind off all the stress of the world...lol!

6157.......1945??? That's funny..HaHa..... I wasn't born until '52. After spending 35 yrs. working for Chrysler-Daimler/Benz, I understand mtcray's comments. It was his opinion and I agree.
